Ok I have been looking around at the different stock opitons that are on the site. I have seen some that really great and some I dont think I could get used to using.

I know the price is differetn for which ever one you go with. I have been looking at tha AICS Short Action 1.5 which I would love to have but out of my price range at this time. I have also been looking at the B&C's, and HP Precision and other stocks.

I am wondering what some of you guys are using and how you like them and what your pro's and cons are with them. I also thinking about just trying to find a 700 SA Police stock to slap my barreled action into for the time being.

Re: I need a stock

It is mostly personal preference. I prefer my A4 over any stock ive handled and have. There are no cons with it. The HS pss take off stocks are nice but I like more of a vertical grip this it lacks. But they are good stocks and you can get some good prices on them here. That is what I have on my 300wsm. I also picked up a Manners T4 recently and and it is very nice.

Try them all

Re: I need a stock

The B&C light tactical is a great stock. It dont weight a whole lot and love the butt hook the only thing im not a fan of is the forarm. Other then that the A4 is a great stock as well. Im getting a rifle that has an A5 on it so lli get back to here with the results on it.

Numrich was blowing out VLS laminates with the beavertail, for 105 clams a pop. I'd much prefer it to either the HS or BC.

Re: I need a stock

I was looking at the ASIC's again and like the fact that they are set up as drop in stocks with the 5rd mag and stuff as I am looking at going with a set up that will let use a mag system.

I am also looking at the MCMILLIAN's as I like the way they look and seem pretty nice. I was trying to figure out what they mean when they are saying the stock needs to be inletted for your barreled action.

I like both of them also because they havethe adjustaible check pads and the but pad's can be switched around for a bettwer fit. That is one of the selling points I am looking with these.

I am looking aroung site for some both a used or new stock to get. I have been watching JW PRECISION's thread and checking his home page and I amwaiting tohear back from him about what is in stock and what is not. I figure I would like to try and spend some money with a dealer from back home. I did not even know he was from my neck of the woods in Georgia.

Re: I need a stock

You tell them what action, bottom metal, barrel contour and they will fit the stock to your build specs so everything fits correctly. Manners will do the same. Dont count them out

I prefer a eagle stock pack over adjustable cheek. Just me. It will help you keep price down and The lop spacer systems are nice as well.

Re: I need a stock

If you are looking short term, I highly recommend the B&C light tactical. I recently put on my SPS tactical and was a drop in fit with greatly increased ergonomics and slight accuracy increase (Was already averaging .6-.7MOA. For a longer term investment, it is hard to beat one of the chassis systems (MCREE, AICS, ect) mainly for the adaptability and included drop-mag system. This adds $350+ to add later if that is an option you want. Plus you can run a chassis without bedding which is also an up-front money saver. But above all things... buy the one that feels right and shoots for you. Try them out if you can. Saving a little money and being unhappy is not worth it.

Re: I need a stock

Thanks guys for the info. I did look at some of B&C stocks and would not mind geting one or a HS stock, the AICS is just out of my price range at this time, I will end waiting to get one of them.

I know you have to fast on the draw around he site to get any good deals on stocks. I wil just end up waiting until I get home from Iraq to get one.

I also know when I get home and get my foot lockers out of the conexs I will be off loading a bunch of gear that I will no longer need. I will use those funds to get me a nice stock.

Re: I need a stock

Joel does make some nice sticks , his A5L is a laminated copy of the McMillan A5 , I've used several and they work great , the wood allows to shape the thing to fit my hands perfect

top one is a 260 on a rem 700 SA , the bottom one is a Rem M-7 that was single shotted and chambered in 6x47 Lapua
