I am trying to build a 1000 yard rifle on a budget. So far I have a new Savage 10 Fcp-k in .308 and up until today I have had a NIKON prostaff 3-9x50mm with a duplex reticle. I can hit a man sized Target at 565 yards consistently while holding over on a duplex reticle so I expect that todays acquisition will help tremendously. Today I bought a Leupold Mark 4 6-20x50mm lr/t with a mil dot and Target turrets(thanks Heat). Now I need a base, rings and a bipod. I don't have the funds to get all top of the line stuff and I was told by someone that I should go with a ded nutz one piece rail and rings combo (about $60 total)for now until I can afford a farell 20 moa base or similar and some good rings. Or should I just wait until I can afford the goods? I saw someone here had a set of leupold mark 4 rings for $75.....and I can probably get a good 20 moa base for around a $100. Any recommendations? The scope has 30mm tube. My current set up consist of a Leupold standard base and leupold 1 inch standard rings and the new scope won't fit. I would love to hear some suggestions between $100 and $200 preferably for the rings and base. Also what type of bipod should I get, preferrably under $100.
