No I did not load nor did I touch the flash hole, since I was drinking. Look in right hand. But this is a cool pic. We loaded the charges earlier in the day. Father loaded and shot off the cannon. But this picture is a memory with pops I will never ever forget.

I HAVE GOT TO GET A CANNON!!! That looks like PURE fun. Blow it up{no pun intended}, and put it on a wall. The picture, that is.GREAT pic. And what an "influence", on you! My Dad hated "black" guns, and big booms.

Hopefully this won't be the last memory of "Pops".

For some damn reason, alcohol seems to cause the "Wow, that was great, let's try it again with more this time" response.

Maybe a remote firing mechanism might be in order with a real long length of wire. Maybe 100 yards of commo wire???

Re: I reloaded this for the biggest bang ever

there are folks who shoot small cannon for marksmanship competitions - ran into a guy at the range practicing for a match - shot pellet style and mineeball style, about 2 1/2 lbs of lead in each

Deadshot, did not have to worry about alcohol that night as it was stated in the article that he was not drinking, (as he does not drink) and I did not set it off. Thanks for the advice though. And it is a 15 second cannon fuse. Thats alot of time in in the cannon business.

That is what we shoot about a 2.5 ball. We hit our target everytime, A 500 acre field.
