I Spy New Baby Theos 2-10x

I'll be the red-headed step child...
I personally just hate the aesthetics of a 30mm tube. If it cost me 2-3 oz to have 34mm I'll gladly take it. Especially if I get more elevation travel with it. I can save 3 oz somewhere else. Probably not the smartest opinion, and I accept that.

I run an NX8 2.5-20x on a pair of hunting rifles and I really wanted to wait for the PA PLXC 2.5-20×48. I have an old Gen 1 Bushnell ERS 3.5-21 in FDE...and if I could have found 2 more, I probably would have just bought them instead of the NX8s. Even though I know they are not a better product.

The short length is what interested me more than anything. As much as I like the MPVO idea, I think that 2.5-20x will work better for what I plan to use it for...espeically if I'm gonna hang a red dot off the side anyway.

Is the diffractive reticle illumination bright enough on a sunny day - fully daylight bright?

I like the screw on zero set turret, my Meopta having similar, nice feature.

34mm tube and huge elevation travel - a why I don't get as well??

29oz - C'mon man the Vortex Razor LHT 4.5-22 is only 21.7 oz. What's with most newer MPVO these days = More Poundage Very Overweight. Optics manufatcurers- Hmm let's see how heavy we can make these things.

10x - Give me at least 12x or nope I'll just use my LPVO.

Hopefully it has super nice IQ at 10x.

Here’s a promo video.

I wonder why they didn’t put numbers on the main horizontal stadia? That would annoy me.
There’s a few other slightly off things about the reticle IMO but it’s far from the worst MPVO reticle out there.

I find the whole, 34mm tube, 43mils of elevation thing weird too.
Surely it’s just done because that’s what the base design is, not because market feedback was full of people wanting to take their 18” 223 AR out to 1mile?

Having spent the better part of the last 3 weeks with the Theos, I never even noticed that there was no numbers on the horizontal stadia, I am so versed in 1.0 and 0.5 Mil stadias that it just felt natural.

To me the reticle in the Theos is pretty much like a cross between Nightforce FC-Mil and FC-DMX where you kept the best parts from both. For me, that worked very well and felt very intuitive.

It is definitely nuclear bright, so no worries there.
If you have tried a Vortex Razor G3 1-10x or a Nightforce NX8 1-8x which has the same type of illumination, then you know what to expect.
