So my new rifle is complete, except for the ST-10 that is on order from US Optics. It's a Remy 700 SPS Tac in .308 with a B&C Medalist Stock, Williams bottom metal, and an EGW 20 MOA base. Obviously, I'm dying to shoot this thing. But I know I'm going to be waiting a few months for the USO glass. Even though I have several other long range rifles, I have been toying with the idea of going to Walmart and buying one of those $40 Simmons shitbird scopes in the blister pack until my USO comes. That's a pretty dumb idea, right?

Yep, either find the rifle you shoot the least and pull the glass off of it (they do go back on) or just buy a cheaper scope and sell it when the USO gets in.

I have a $70 Crossman Crosspointe scope on my MkII. It will work for a couple months until you get the USO mounted.

Wow, brilliant idea. It never ever crossed my mind. I could pull the 3200 Elite off my MkII and use that. Damn, that's a good idea.

I would never pull the scopes off my Savage or Barrett unless I had to, but the MkII, no problem.

Thanks!

Not dumb a dumb idea, just not thinking it through.

Your best options are:

1)Pull a scope off another rifle and borrow it until you USO comes in.

2) Buy a new scope like the 10x Super Sniper. Yes, you will need to outlay $320., but you can sell it later and take maybe a $40. to $50. loss. Not a bad trade off, and a better scope $40. Simmons. Both will cost you $40. in the end.
