I've got access to a full machine shop w/ everything I need to work on my guns. I paid someone 150$ to thread the barrel on my .300 a couple years ago. I got 2 .223 cal cans last year and up until now all I've used them on are my ARs and .22 pistols. I also have 2 .22-250s. This one is my oldest one. I took a couple online classes and stripped this thing down, chucked it up in the old South Bend lathe and threaded the barrel. Really wasn't that difficult although it was rather intimidating. But it was successful and after pulling the rifle all apart and reassembly the POI was only off 1/2"(that's no can to can)! It was down to the barreled action in the lathe. I'm happy!
