I'm with Phil.

Good for you,

we have two very clear rules,

No Religion

No Politics

if you want to continue posting about something that violates both, as I have already removed 3 threads on the subject. I am gonna go on a banning spree that I promise it leaves people off the site at least 3 months.

Sorry, I just want to be clear here.
We can't discuss freedom of speech...something all to many Canadian and American service people have died defending.
In truth, if this is the case...you don't need to ban me...I quit.

Bobtodrick, just an FYI, freedom of speech (if you are referring to the Constitution) is a relationship between citizens and the government. It applies here as much as a Strunk and White manual applies to an orangutan. Let it die. Go back to shooting.

In other news, the high school air rifle team I'm coaching is doing pretty well. Had some personal bests last match. I am slowly converting some of them to front site focus and use of a blinder. It's pretty awesome to see a smattering of 7s and 8s turn into 9s and 10s in, literally, the blink of an eye.

Anyone got some tips for common issues to look for? So far I've been going over trigger control front sight focus, both eyes open, and some position basics. It's 3 position, and kneeling is the one I know least about.

Lowlight is not saying you can not discuss this, He is saying you cannot discuss it in his house. Lowlight's board, Lowlight's rules. Suppose you don't like smoking, you might say "no smoking in my house." and still support peoples right to smoke in their own homes. Feel free to start your own board with your own rules, Heck send me a invite and I'll come visit. But while a guest here I'll try to follow the rules here.

Actually that is not true, freedom of speech, or the freedom of expression, is recognized in international and national human rights law. The right is enshrined in Article 19 of the International Covenant on Civil Rights and Article 13 of the American Convention on Human Rights. Freedom of speech is understood as a multi-faceted right that includes not only the right to express, or disseminate, information and ideas, but three further distinct aspects:

the right to seek information and ideas;
the right to receive information and ideas;
the right to impart information and ideas

National standards recognize that freedom of speech, as the freedom of expression, includes any medium, be it orally, in written, in print, through the Internet or through art forms. This means that the protection of freedom of speech as a right includes not only the content, but also the means of expression.
Turns out I am American, thus I am more concerned with the Constitution.

Bobtodrick, trigger control and follow through are the two big score killers in positional shooting. Especially with low velocity air rifles, they need to be holding on target for a full count after each shot. As the follow through becomes more natural, they can hold however long they want. Also, when kneeling, make sure they have their weight centered, as most people, especially young'uns lean back to compensate for the rifle's weight. Best of luck, I wish I could have started this in my HS (I tried and the VT massacre happened latter that month, the school board wouldn't hear anything after that.)

Hey TNT, I coach our county Sporter air rifle team. Started with my daughter shooting 4-H BB four position. Now she shoots 3P and my son has started the novice prone competition. We are very fortunate to live relatively close to Anniston Alabama and shoot at the CMP range every month. A lot of good info has already been mentioned. Definitely follow through, focus on the basics. Keep both eyes open, blinders ear plugs and a hat are very helpful. Have them wear the support hand glove. Make sure they get that sling tight! Bone support all the way!!!!! Get them to get that hip out front in standing. Natural point of aim is very important. If you have any specific questions PM me.
