Looking at reviews about this muzzle break. Thinking about putting one on my 6mm Havak. I like how it’s shorter in length, but what’s everyones opinion on this. Does it tame recoil and help stay on target?

It works but it was designed to be more friendly to the other shooters on the line.

IMO the Hellfire/sidewinder is the most effective you can get but if you wanna be nice to your friends then get the impact.

This wont be popular, but I had hell with a 6mm Hellfire. I had been shooting with my Omega for the last several years but wanted to try a brake again. Because of the glowing reviews I bought a hellfire. My groups doubled in size and gave me shotgun style patterns put the Omega back on and everything was good. Figured the load needed tweaking with the hellfire so I started with seating depth with no change and then powder charge with no change to group size. Bought an Impact and went back to my original load and wouldn't you know, groups went right back to where they were supposed to be. The impact ranked high in reticle not moving in the brake test you can google. It's a great break and very easy to time, actually it was the easiest self timing brake I've used. So I would highly recommend it...

If you read enough about them on these forums (which I over research everything lol) there is a few others that reported similar results as mine but are usually overwhelmed by positive reviews. I worked a bunch of loads because I know how good they are but nothing I tried helped.

The search engine is your friend...

Here's a previous thread that answers your questions:

That thread actually doesn’t talk about the “impact precision” muzzle break. There is only one mention about the muzzle break in that thread. I’m interested in the impact Precision because of the size and ease of self timing. Hopefully some people have experience with it. I have a Heathen break on my 28nos and like it but I’d like a small profile break for the 6mm on my Havak. Thanks for the help

The muzzle brakes that I have include Impact Precision, APA LB, and PVA Jetblast. In my opinion, the APA and the PVA are the best at and about equal at recoil reduction and staying on target, but the APA is MUCH more obnoxious about blasting neighboring shooters with gas and dust. The Impact Precision brake is only very slightly less effective at recoil reduction and it is about equal to the PVA in not blasting neighboring shooters with gas and dirt.

Soooooo what your saying is, it’s a good break and go with it... done deal

Yes I think it's a good brake, but having said that, my two main rifles that I shoot in matches are 6.5 CMs with the PVA Jetblast brake on them. I just think the Jetblast reduces recoil a little more, but the difference is pretty minor. I do like the easy installation and timing of the Impact.

I have a Area 419 and have zero complaints about it, but I’ve been looking at an Impact just because they look so cool... 6mm recoil????‍♂️

I’m not running this 6mm in competition. Mostly banging steel and hunting the hell out of it. I think the two port shorter break looks cleaner and is handier than adding another 2-3in the end of the barrel. I just wanted to make sure it does an adiquate job at reducing recoil. Sounds like people have a good experience with them.
