Anybody have QL info for imr 8133 that seems to be close to real world results?

I posted in the reloading forum but figured it would be relevant here too

I may be wrong, but I do not think 8133 is in the QL system yet. But I have upgraded in 2 yrs either.

It isn’t in there, all the other enduron series is but not 8133. I think there is a way to load custom powder profiles, didn’t know if anyone had a profile they made that worked out ok.

Over my paygrade, lol I did make the 6mm 110 Sierra in QL, not sure if I'm in the ballpark.

Not exactly a science-grade method by any means, but I've heard that you can use Retumbo and subtract 2 grains to emulate IMR 8133 in QL.

Thanks for the info. I’ll give that a try and see what QL spits out

What is the usable/fillable case capacity with a bullet for your 33 XC?
My 338 Edge is from 95 grains to 103 grains...with either a 285 ELD or a 300 Berger.
In my 27 1/2" Rock Creek barreled 338 Edge, a 285 ELD, and 99 grains of IMR 8133 I get ~ 2920 fps
Which is fairly close to 96 grains of N570 in the same gun.
RL-33 would be another good powder, but you need to keep the pressure high with RL-33 or it seems like the powder burns really dirty.
Once the pressure is up near max. RL-33 burns very clean.
Why?...I dunno....

With a 33XC (which I think has quite a bit more case capacity than a 338 Edge) you might want to go with an even slower powder than IMR8133, or N570

As for a 300 Norma...I would ASSUME that IMR8133 will be a faster than N570 and RL-33

It has about 125-127grs usable. I have a 30” barrel. I’m currently trying h50bmg but my ES isn’t the greatest and QL is saying 97% powder burn. I was thinking 8133 might be a bit more temp stable than rl33.

Looks like the 338 edge has 115grs H2O and 33xc has 137.5 H2O

At 100 grains of IMR8133 and a 285 ELD, I had 2957, and 2974 fps
My notes say I had a little primer flow, a slightly sticky bolt and the group was 1 1/4"
In my notes, that's the biggest load of IMR8133 I used

Shot a couple past the LabRadar today to see where to start a ladder and looks like 8133 is going to be to fast. RL33 should get me where I wanna go so I’ll load up a ladder and depending on weather hopefully get it ran next couple days.

GHOST THREAD,
I'm looking for the heat of explosion for 8133.

I'm going to try some in a long throated Bartlien 300wm with Berger 200.20x.
Thanks.
