in search of long range semi accuracy

I have always thought that accuracy and semi-auto are two words that should never be used in the same sentence. If your goal is rapid well aimed fire buy a semi-auto, if your looking for accuracy at the least cost and hassle, buy a bolt action...especially for accurate long range shooting.
from the post that he is looking to throw $5 down range at a time and then tossing out names of rifles that are over $5,000 I'm sure cost is NOT the issue. Sure he could get a $600 bolt action with some glass but that is not what he wants.

According to all reviews I have seen, F&D is g2g. I have talked to the owners on several occasions and they are nothing like a few guys here make them out to be.
Little man's syndrome is contagious and can easily get transmitted online.
I've had a 338LM TRG, a pretty tricked out Savage 111, and the FD338....I'll take the F&D any day of the week.....I've had the rifle close to a year and put right at a thousand rounds through the original 22" barrel....I recently went to a 25" and the results at the closer ranges (200yd) has been great....usually prints about an inch at 200....hoping to move out to 600 this weekend, then out to 1k......
I would rather have something smaller and more conventional like a 6.5MM Creedmoor with a long barrel to keep the velocity up. GAP also does their 6mm wildcat I watched a video of their guy putting 5 rounds into about 5" @ 1000ish yards on steel. Why beat yourself up with a magnum when you don't have to? Barrel life will be the shits too, 6-6.5mm will last lots longer.
Jp lrp 07 in 260 or 6.5. Leupold mark6 3-18, quality mount. Should leave you well under 7500 and get you to 1000 in style!
What reports ?
There are barely a handful on the street, and the reactions have been mixed at best. In fact we had to remove everything about them because of the mixed reactions, and their response to the same.
It's mostly hype, there are no real "reports" as there are barely any on the street.
Stick with known performers... GAP, JP, etc, there are lot within your price range that are not delayed, and have proven track records.
Beyond that, don't expect to find any more conversation on F&D on SH, as they are PNG.

I totally agree with this comment. Semi auto long range is pretty tough to find for under $5,000. The semi-auto's are of such less performance accuracy wise that the local gun club here have a separate division for them as a handicap. If I want to hit anything past 1,000 yards, I am thinking bolt action and nothing else.
Check out the Nemo arms Omen. .300 Win. Mag. AR. I was in Colorado Springs hunting Elk with my father in-law and after hunting one day stopped into a gun shop and was able to check one out in person. Seems to be very well built. Here is the website.

Seems a bit pricey at $5600.00 but I'm sure it's alot of fun. They have a video on the website that makes a 1,000 yards seem easy for this semi-auto.

There's a couple of guys on here who own one and they've been less than impressed. Speak with those who actually own and use what you're suggesting because getting to 1000 is one thing, doing it with consistent accuracy is another.
If you are new to the 1000 yard game, you may be getting the cart before the horse here. Baby steps.
