Buy a Savage action off Jim Briggs from Northland Shooter Supply. From there get the barrel and stock of your choice. Possibilities are endless with Savage short action builds!

I've shot the .300WM version and it was pretty kick-ass. I was very pleasantly surprised.

one of the guys had one at our practice shoot today (200-1k) shot well but was pretty freakn' heavy! I have a 10fp bedded in a b&c with dbm and 5-25 S&B pmII, harris bi-pod, sling, etc. The the BAS-K with a 5-25 Premier, minus the bipod and sling was a LITTLE bit heavier than my rig. I think if you get rid of the huge picatiny rail thigy-magigy they have on them they weigh about the same as your average rig. Cool stock rifle from what i could tell
