Title changed to avoid some nasty ax confusion LOL

I ordered a rear tang for my Kidd rifle from Kidd. I have a Boyd’s ProVarmint it is in now. I have asked around some NC based forums for a smith to inlet the stock for the tang but have not been given any suggestions.

The front action screw area is well done with a steel bedding block and pillar, just need the rear inletted and bedded.

Anyone know a good smith in central NC, Raleigh or close?

If I choose to try it myself, would my drill press and the Kidd recommended 1/2” end mill do a decent job?

If you have to ask you probably don't want to try doing it yourself. I would put it a cardboard box and send it to someone who does it every day.

Man the title of this thread sounds nasty.

You know, you’re right, changed it
