My cousin and shooting partner has a stock that needs in-let for some new bottom metal.
It's a B&C with the aluminum bedding block. Anybody done this. Any advice before I go chopping away on it tonight...
Thanks!

Do NOT use a dremel tool. I spent about 10 hours fixing up an HS Precision that someone tried to inlet for Badger bottom metal with a dremel tool. It took 3 separate bedding sessions with cleanup and trim after each one to get it back into something resembling a stock on the top and bottom.

You really need a milling machine for this, it's certainly possible to do it on a manual machine if you have a little bit of experience. One of the "duh" checks that I do is to put pins into the bottom metal and action screw holes to align it to the stock in a "eh, close" manner and run a permanent marker around the outside to get a demarcation line with indelible ink.

I did it on my B&C stock, I used a rotozip and a large tooth metal file. It took a few hours and alignment wasn't as easy as I initially thought (put pins in the bottom metal like the previous post states) however it turned out really well and after a quick bedding job its down to 1/2 MOA consistent.
