Re: Iraq 2006 M14

If I'm moving I clip the rifle to my IBA with a quick release. I had 550 cord on both my M4 and the M14 and had a quick release on my IBA so that if needed I could let the weapon hang and use both hands without having to set the weapon down. Its a heavy rifle to do that with but I felt it important.

It was a Springfield Optic that a friend sent me.
We used the M3A Ultra's in the past and now most of the guys are using LRT's. ODA gets to play with some NF.

Very sexy. I miss mine, I've got a civie SA M1A with the EBR chassis. Right now I'm stuck with my issued M4. They're fun but I miss the 7.62 power. Mine at home is around 16 lbs, any idea how much yours weighs?

Re: Iraq 2006 M14

I never weighed that rifle. I wonder what the weight is with the EBR stock? It was a nice shooter! the trigger could have been better (I tried to clean it up a bit). The one thing I didn't like was that the EBR stock made cleaning a bit more difficult.

Re: Iraq 2006 M14

Stefan,
Is your rifle holding zero? Seems obvious, however, I've never found a scope sighted 14 that would hold zero even when transported in a travel vault. Which obviously you are not doing... There was a custom 14 with a 10 Mark 4 on a custom fitted Brookfield Mount in my safe for a good while. That said I developed NO faith on my cold bore shot being on...fwiw & imho

Stay safe, Thank you for your service, and have a Happy Thanksgiving...
