Is 6mm Creedmoor still the best option for 6mm in an AR10?

In the bolt gun world, people are running all sorts of 6mm cartridges, but most of them won't work in an AR10 magazine.

If you were to build a 6mm cartridge AR10 today, would you just go for 6mm Creedmoor? Any other good options? Anything else on the horizon?

My buddy runs a 6mm creedmoor and he's starting to go away from it since the barrel life is around 1K.

I would say 6mm creedmoor is definitely the best option in a 6mm. Most widely available ammo selection. No real magazine or feeding concerns.

Ammo availability, proven systems, barrels from all over the place, components to reload.

If you are buying ammo 243 and 6 Creed are the only good options.

If you handload the 243ai is a great option.

None of them are great for barrel life. Going to a 6.5 Creed will double the barrel life.

Imo a 6x6.8 is the perfect AR platform 6mm.

I have had horrible reliability due to feeding with 2 AI based cases in AR-10’s
