Is Russia done pretending?

all the destruction in Donbas started with the Ukrainians shelling cities that declared their independence, then shoving troops into those "fortress cities", which forced the Russians to demolish them to root the AFU out. it was deliberate.

some people dont understand the russian mindset. If WW1 began with the Russians protecting Serbian Slavs from the Austrians, why does anyone pretend they won't protect actual Russians right next door from jewish globalists and neocons using the dumb hohols as a tool.

as i said in the last deleted thread on this topic, putin will continue unless the "cost" of continuing is untenable.
he is committed to "liberating" the remaining portions of the mostly russian speaking regions that wanted autonomy from ukraine.
i see no indication that zelensky is willing to concede any territory, so i don't see peace on the horizon.
unfortunately, zelensky doesn't seem to have to worry about the "cost", since somebody else is footing the bill.

/and i still think it is the natural resources that they are really fighting over.

The one "cost" that Zelensky has to worry about is manpower, as he is quickly running out of that resource and no other country is currently willing to fill that gap (and rightfully so).

I don't see how this war is sustainable. Ukraine can't win a war of attrition against Russia. Further involvement by the west has the ultimate consequence of a potential world war breaking out.

What I do fear is that the leaders of Ukraine, understanding the situation they are in, will do something to deliberately spark a hot war between NATO and Russia. An unpopular fact amongst the Ukraine-stans is that the ultra-nationalists hold a lot of power in Ukraine, and make up at least 10% of the current AFU. This group has been threatening Zelensky with death for years over any talks of peace with Russia.

The West doesn't want peace, and they will creep right up to the edge of Russia's "red lines" to keep this proxy war going. Zelensky and those around him don't want peace, as that stops the gravy train, their power, and ultimately potentially their own lives. Russia wants an end to NATO expansionism on their borders, and will be unwilling to give back any occupied territory to Ukraine.

I think the only way this ends is with the US pushing for concessions to be made with Russia to end this war, but the longer this goes on the less likely that scenario seems to be.

selective service

Another term that seems to be eluding comprehension just like strategic.

Please elaborate on exactly what this term means in a non-question form including how it pertains to conscription/draft practices.

You don't set the rules for people's responses in a place where my questions receive non-answer mentions of gay sex, which illicit overwhelming little thumbs up emojis and positive replies. You're free to google "selective service" however if you're genuinely uneducated and curious, and I applaud you for seeking to better yourself through the expansion of your knowledge on US government. Learning is fun! :)

That might be inevitable at this point. It seemed early on that Trump wanted to pull Russia out of China’s sphere of influence, making them a non participant in the inevitable INDOPACOM conflict. However based on recent actions & statements by this administration those efforts have failed.

A while ago I read an article stating that China needs Russia to fix the U.S. and NATO in Europe to set favorable conditions for China’s planned invasion of Taiwan. And from all the chatter that I am hearing WRT Russian operations in the Baltics that seems to be what is happening.

Didn’t have to be this way, but our enemies on the left wouldn’t have it any other way.

Those idiots are sounding alot like that little turd in NK a whole lot of noise.
Laughing might be true, but then again, talking out one's ass is how we pushed Russia into this in the first place. It's all planned to include the billions going to die. Greed & power wants, are going to destroy vast area's of this rock.

I set the rules for what I accept as intelligent responses, you fail again.

I know the definitions for all the terms you want to throw around as if there is some controversy around them other than the controversy that exists in your imagination.

The only controversial thing here is the conflicted bubble you built for yourself where these terms have some different, ignorantly constrained meaning.

Is attacking power and municipal infrastructure where combatants might take cover among civilians considered a "strategy"?

Asking for a friend.
Sure, could be, depending upon the effect you want to achieve. Or legit infrastructure targets might get missed resulting in ordinance getting wasted on civilian stuff. TLE is a thang yo.

Remember what we did to Dresden and later Wurzburg during WWII?

The [Jewish International Banking System] is salivating at the chance for [funding both sides of ]a new big war [again].
I'm betting they are going to get it with a series of false flag attacks.
Then as always the more crafty and evil and cunning [Coin Clippers] will drag the stupid Americans into it thanks to the evil of our own politicians.

Then Russia will have to decide to either hand out nukes to all of Europe or become a colony and puppet state of the USA.

The other question is can the nuclear war stay limited to Europe or do the 2 actual folks that matter start lobbing nukes back and forth at each other?

I'm guessing in the background China is probably pretty pleased with how it's going & how it will go either way.
Fixed it for you. -> [ ]

“If you look at the world map and see what Russia is like, it becomes obvious that we don't need other people's territories or their natural resources of any kind. We have enough of everything. We are a self-sufficient country. We have no need to fight or be in conflict with anyone. Moreover, in 1990, Russia initiated the dissolution of the Soviet Union republics. It was us who showed good will and granted independence to all the former republics. This didn't happen because of a civil war or other conflicts of that kind. Therefore, we have no desire to recreate an empire or revive the Soviet Union, but we must protect our independence and sovereignty, which we have done and will continue to do” - President Putin

I tend to think about the American Revolution era. Catherine the Great provided help to the colonists as she was a fan, so to speak, of their desire to be free of English rule. Between then and now, RUS had a period where it was USSR and in that era, we had the Cold War. The present RUS is not the USSR and it's not fair to RUS as a nation entity or as a people to assume the negatives of USSR still run the show.

There's also the notion that on the global stage, diplomatically speaking, RUS stands head and shoulders above any other nation. Their staff facing the world as a public thing, they preserve the ideas of national identity, dignity, and that fuzzy thing folks call "professionalism".

They're also a few thousand years older, as an entity, than our country here. But then, so are most countries on the planet, older I mean. Born circa 1776, what other countries were around then, and how old were they, and how many of them exist today? I tend to think our country is enduring a teenage craziness stage right now, can't sense mortality, full of energy, not yet responsible for itself.

Elaborate scheme to smuggle my money out of Ukraine.

Seriusly thou it was 970.000$ not 1 mio or ......... border guards pocketed the small change

Let's take a poll on who most here, think empowers this.
(A) Z-boy
(B) the person who stole it
(C) those who sent it as hush money
(D) those wanting this war to expand
(E) all the above

in 1990, Russia initiated the dissolution of the Soviet Union republics. It was us who showed good will
This is not good will. This is a consequence of the fall of the communist system, which could not feed itself, because it spent all its money on missiles with which it intimidated the entire free world, just like now.
This didn't happen because of a civil war or other conflicts of that kind.
And what happened in Chechnya?
it becomes obvious that we don't need other people's territories

and that is why they included in their constitution the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, which they did not capture because they were thrown out of Kherson, so much so that they even swam across the Dnipro river on inflatable mattresses.
we must protect our independence
Well, they defended their independence so much that they became vassals of China.
and what was all this for?
For ruins of Donbass, which they have not yet captured?
President Putin
It are not putin but Huilo, which in English means dickhead. An illegitimate dictator who ruled for 25 years as a tsar and turned Russia into a paper tiger.
now he would not make such a mistake, but it's too late
The light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter and brighter and shines so beautifully there is the oil and gas infrastructure, which is burning after the strikes from the Ukrainian army.

Stupid agitator, I wouldn't pay you a cent for such poor work.

Ukraine now officially ordering Kramatorsk evacuation

"Hal Turner Snide Remark

Gee, how can this be? I'm constantly being told that "Ukraine is winning." Yet Ukraine is the only side evacuating cities month after month. HMMMMMMM"

No different than the people who were saying the war was over within the first week or two. It's been what, two years now? Three? But I forgot Russia is "holding back" etc. I called it like a gazillion pages ago (well in that other ukraine thread) that the whole thing would grind to a halt really quick as soon as people started shooting back at them.

This is the Cold War bogeyman they spent 60 years telling us to be afraid of laid bare for all to see.

Apparently you haven't been paying attention. Russia can hit anywhere in Ukraine at any time. Only recently took out a large portion of their energy infrastructure indicates a change in.tactics.. but it's a change they can make at any time.. It appears the attrition approach is greatly in their favor and they are content with that approach for now. Any small gains Ukraine makes on the front with focused attacks never last more than a few weeks. Usually at the expense of accelerated loss elsewhere.
Anybody has evidence otherwise please feel free to explain.
