Is Russia done pretending?

it wouldn't be shocking.
i'm pretty certain that a significant number of russians suffered under the bolsheviks like the ukrainians did.
it is hard to blame anyone with family that were brutalized or murdered by the communists for embracing the "other side".
somewhat frustrating that many people only identify nazis with killing jewish people. jews were being slaughtered decades before hitler rose to power.
many people claim the west bankrolled the rise of the nazi party as a barrier to bolshevik expansion.

it might seem funny, but that is how they give themselves the moral license to hurt people that don't agree with them.
it can't be wrong to hurt a nazi, can it?

Yeah there's a reason Democrats call everyone who disagrees a "Nazi" (or Fascist which is just yelling Nazi without yelling it).

Russia was indeed a friend to the colonists during the American Revolution. And right up to the 1910s decade. The bolshevik forces that killed Tsar Alexander & family basically ruined the friendship and look at where it is today.

I would put good money on the idea that RUS would entertain friendship again if only our govt would present itself globally with more self-respect, more decorum and more understanding of its role as compared to the rest of the planet. But that would take an administration unlike any we've seen for the past 75 years or so.
100% agree.
We’ve broken our word and our deals with them at almost every single opportunity. If we treated them with some honesty and respect I think people would be surprised at how well we’d get along with Russia. They wanted to join NATO in the early 2000’s so clearly they’re absolutely open to the idea of partnering with us. But nope, we had to shut em down and keep them as an enemy, while pushing NATO closer and closer to their border.

I swear, over the past 5 yrs or so, I have seen more generic put-downs via "nazi" or "fascist" than any other period of my life. Last time I heard "nazi" this often was when Seinfeld was on and he had the "soup nazi" character. And people used "soup nazi" as a slang for a period back then.
“Nazi” has literally lost all meaning and impact due to liberal extremists calling everyone right of Lavrenty Beria a nazi.

Fckn love that movie.

No official source, but that type thing would never be allowed online or admitted to.
But I’ve heard it from multiple unofficial sources. This was like 2+ years ago, let me see what I can dig up.. it was when basically the entirety of Azov batt. got surrounded and destroyed in Mariupol.
I can believe a lot of things, but this just isn’t one of them. There’s no way a general would authorize Green Berets to operate alongside a forward element in Ukraine. It sounds like a rumor to me — I haven’t seen anything credible to support it. Maybe you’ve got friends claiming some kind of insider information, but people with access to that level of intel don’t usually share it so freely.

Funny how the media will on one hand write an entire article on a "pro-Russian" fighter wearing Nazi symbols to create a narrative, but on the other hand completely whitewash the world's largest neo-Nazi organization (Azov) to ignore another.

Russia had cartographers then too. Why do you choose French depictions of Russian territory? Who is France relative to Russia?
In that case, we have our own cartographers too.
But to demonstrate impartiality, an independent source is provided.
This is the norm of a healthy discussion, often inaccessible to understanding by those who grew up in conditions of despotism, such as Muscovites.
Do you have any suspicions about the veracity of what he compiled?

And this one who killed the tsar, banned the church, has been lying on Red Square for 100 years.
And not just lying, but lying like a saint (almost) who is worshiped by modern generations.
The mysterious Russian mentality as it is.

Умом Россию не понять, Аршином общим не измерить: У ней особенная стать - В Россию можно только верить. Тютчев Ф.

Russia cannot be understood with the mind, it cannot be measured with a common yardstick: It has a special status - One can only believe in Russia.
Tyutchev F.

In their genetic code there is a permanent claim to the "third Rome". And they are fed this shit from the very preschool educational institution and until the grave.
They have a sacred mission - to catch up and surpass the "West" and in their mind to surpass it is not to be better but to be those whom everyone fears. If they are afraid, it means they respect, as they themselves say.
In this veiled need for "respect" lies the entire Russian behavioral model. The government robs them and in return asks them to unite against an external enemy. That's all of Russia.

Your problem is that you look at this issue from a pro-Russian point of view.
Which, by the way, is very suspicious.
From the point of view of the US (which makes the key decision on who to accept into NATO and who not), Russia, if you do not take into account the number of ICBMs, is essentially a third world country with a poor population, territorial problems at that time (Chechnya), with a PDG like in Portugal, holes in the budget, corruption and banditry, which recently had to be saved from famine in the 90s with humanitarian aid, but with claims to be a global player. A kind of Venezuela a Paper Tiger, as Trump said.
So the decision on the extraordinary, without appropriate efforts from Moscow, acceptance of such a member was naturally not even considered.

When the Ukrainians tried to do the same, but unlike Russia, with an attempt to really carry out reforms, the Maidan took place.
During which pro-Russian forces tried to return Ukraine to the bosom of Mother Russia.
That's when Putin's wheels fall off the bus.
He couldn't allow some Ukraine (which doesn't even exist in his reality) to be the first to join NATO or the EU.
Well, here we are.

We can only hope Russia follows through and steam rolls past the UK. Long past time the eu and others experience what true war is again, especially those who think they are untouchable.

"Moscow has also claimed that the launch of any such missiles - due to their technology - would be by US military personnel, not Ukrainian, meaning the attack could trigger a Third World War."

Just like we definitely didn’t do this right?

It could’ve been just a rumor. And it may not have been Army Special Forces necessarily… but I definitely remember several people and sites around that time talking about a US element being attached to Azov batt. and a bunch of high level people being involved in talks with Russia to let them leave after Mariupol. I was just assuming they were SF due to their mission statement.

Maybe they were simply vets who volunteered (which IMO the .gov has a much bigger hand in facilitating than they let on..

Sabotaging something and rolling to the front lines are really much different, I don’t think that slippery slope leads to active army personnel fighting along side Ukrainian units in the center of a battle.

I just think that’s a terrible rumor to perpetuate.

Advisors in the rear? Sure.
I’m sure talks did happen with Russia to ensure those folks were not mistakenly targeted.

another reason to cut them off and end the war.

The Telegraph reported:

“Among the more promising recent recruits [at the Kill House Academy] was a pilot with the callsign Aguila 7 (Eagle 7) – a former special forces soldier from Mexico, enlisted with Ukraine’s International Legion. But while he excelled at the course, it seemed he had foes other than Russian soldiers in his sights. Eagle 7 was in fact a foot soldier in Mexico’s feared Los Zetas drug cartel and had been sent there to learn drone skills for use in drug wars back home, according to reports.”

Last I recall Russia was outpacing us in arty shell production.. and doing it at a cheaper price.
And there’s already American troops on the ground in Ukraine. There was a green beret unit attached to Azov, and when they got surrounded in Mariupol - some high level negotiations took place for them to be allowed to leave with their lives. All those Azov troops were subsequently killed.

War is hell dude. Why don’t we try being friends with Russia instead of poking the bear? We got way more in common with them than the vast majority of our “allies”.

yes,3 super powers, maybe 4 with India. pushing Putin into Xi's camp will be a bad thing. they have a common border and have been at odds long time. Trump has screwed that up. i am just completely unable to understand Trump's becoming Biden the 2nd re Ukraine. sending more billions in cash, weapons and yes, personnel. Zelensky corruption and theft is so obvious and well shown as to be beyond doubt. looks like deliberate provocation which can't end well. there is no way that anything in that area is of any importance to American national interests. is he listening to and believing the MIC shills like Kellogg?
i am well aware that Israel has complete control of Trump and congress. Ukraine and NATO having the same power and control in America? "we have to stop them there Russians." the chest thumping, macho, retarded fools in this country and government are going to drag us into a war with Russia (and Iran, and China, and Venezuela}. the chances of one of those going nuclear are about 100%. Putin is cautious to a point that is just amazing but that can't last forever. we have been at war with Russia since '22. some would say since '14. we have pushed it well past Cuba 1962.
the whole thing is beyond anything approaching rational.

For sure. We’re gonna need all the help we can get in containing China in the coming years(and especially if we end up fighting them).
Russia would be an immensely valuable ally against China.

China is the real threat. If we could get Russia and India fully on our side, that would be damn near priceless.. Both of them already have nukes, a fully functioning space program, a fckton of ppl, and are right on China’s doorstep. And Russia has a good reputation of keeping their word with their allies and supporting them, which is big because IMO a LOT of the EU would turn their back on us if it came to blows with China.

Agreed. I’ll say the China ship has sailed at this point & the oligarchs are simply picking the bones clean of the US.

If Tomahawk cruise missiles are launched at Russia, it will be almost impossible for the USA to claim that "Well we just gave them to the Ukraine and told them do whatever they want with them".

It would probably be pretty easy to prove they were under USA or NATO control and physical ownership the whole time and the command codes were as well.

agree totally. China is THE threat with EU and Israel being in that club as well. Mexico is a strong #2 worst enemy. we really just need to let Europe fuck off. let Putin deal with them. he'd likely just ignore them or sell them stuff at a profit and who cares? east Europe has or would get a clue. i believe that MAYBE Russia got a clue that empire is a no winner and mutual cooperation is a winning move. we should get the same clue. hassling India is also dumb. yes,our executive/ruling class has let them run over us here with H1Bs and subsidizing their entry into our market and sending jobs like call centers over there. but they have had problems with China and are natural antagonists.
our idiots in DC are pushing the whole world against us. we should be working towards cooperation in competition against China.
face it China is the super power. we still have the Atlantic and Pacific. India and Russia have common borders with China and an expansionist power like China will be an issue for anyone with a common border.

Western O&G companies needed that EU natural gas market. And now that they have it, they won’t let it go back to Russia.

There would be no conflict
If US didn't support us, we wouldn't give up our nuclear weapons (the world's third-largest nuclear arsenal) and Putin would behave like a fluffy bunny.

don't pretend to know or understand the energy market. but, just seems to me that energy needs here with increasing power needs, need for many new refineries, need for more plants, grid instability and risks, esp these AI data crunchers that we don't need to sell energy anywhere but here. i suspect that relative scarcity is a corp tool to keep prices high, but i'm paranoid,so...

What would the Ukraine conflict look like had the US not supported them?
It would've been over in days after Russia started invasion.
Thousands of lives on both sides would been saved.
The US taxpayer/national debt wouldn't have been taken for or on the hook for billons of dollars of aid and weapons.
Z boy would be in prison or dead.
We shouldn't be involved there in any way shape or form.

Right on.
Making a counter-China alliance should be one of our be biggest foreign policy priorities. Our current allies in Europe ain’t gone cut it. But if we added massive population bases with nukes like Russia and India to the list, IMO China would strongly think twice before trying anything..
China has what, 10 or 12 men for every one of ours? That’s just a ridiculous disparity to overcome, as seen when they pushed us back to the 38th parallel(except now they have tech equal to ours).

True. However the U.S. has a large glut of natural gas and we haven’t even peaked yet. The industry was looking for a way to profit on that glut and the EU was the largest somewhat accessible market. The numbers are there. In 2020 the US LnG exports to Europe were 26 BCM(billio cubic meters). This peaked in 2023 at 78BCM with 2025 projected to be 70BCM. Essentially all western O&G companies (shell, Exxon, chevron Bp etc) have invested huge sums of money in European LNG import infrastructure since 2020 with many new terminals. These companies have seen record setting profits from 2022-current.

The rub here is that western LNG is much more expensive for the EU compared to Russian gas.

Inconsistency is the rule of the era. I saw it in litigation among attorneys who thought it made their bargaining position "powerful" because unpredictable. Can't say I ever saw it win against a half-decent attorney on the other side.

In matters of diplomacy, it is a non-starter to the serious nations and only works with far lesser, no-military / no-industry / no-economy countries.

There's no point in engaging with such infantile and cartoonishly simple talking points.

These same idiotic talking points are all over Reddit. These people aren't interested in objective facts and nuance, they exist to spread cartoonishly simple propaganda, for one reason or another.

I swear NAFO is the internets largest assembly of retards.

They all follow the scripts created in hollywood out-of-work "screenwriter" confabs, it seems. Out of work because these days hollywood shows it has no intellect or creativity. Notice the mirror image in the NAFO nonense. They still want back "in" with the big boys in hollywood so they scribble on the internet. One country is paying 7k-7.5k per post.

Laughing,
The math is simple, We are but 4-5 very large transformers away from a total grid collapse, and every tango worth its salt knows that & where they are.
None of those are built in this country anymore, they are not a shelf item, and from order to nailing to the pad times are a little longer than Long.

On the grid issues -- recently I went to replace some bulbs in my kitchen. Fluorescent tubes. And I wanted some low-watt filament bulbs. Everything seems to have gone LED where possible. Guy at ACE Hdwre says there are categories of light "bulbs" where ACE can't sell filament. He says it's a state reg.

I start thinking, if this is true (I didn't look it up to verify) the only reason I can think, apart from gross market shift manipulation, is decreasing current load on the delivery systems.

That is correct. The major reason you see standards being raised all the time. If the average sheep knew how fragile the grid truly is, they would be shitting their pants.

Now that said, the best thing that could ever happen is a short term total collapse, to bring reality to those who live in another dimension, in the US.

All the more reason for us to put some effort into a peace treaty for Rus+Ukr. Too many people on both sides have lost their lives already. White christians dying for globalist libtards needs to fckn stop.
The single question to ask those who are pushing this, or any agenda pusher for that matter,... How much is enough, or is it all ego?

Yeah that's a great question and it gets into the voodoo of human psychology and the philosophical points of ethics, morality and values.

For certain people, there is never enough. And the question is, "enough of WHAT?" Addiction plays into this theme of "enough" and people can get addicted to things besides drugs/alcohol. There are behavior addictions like gambling. And all "enough" chasing is a gamble of a sort. Maybe the "gambling soul" is at the bottom of it.
