Loading for my Socom ii..308. In my hornady book the lightest bullet is the 155gr. I have been using the hornady 150 SPBT and have around 300-350 rounds though it and its shooting fine,MOA at 100. but anyway when a round chambers in and if i eject it and look at it. it is messing up the tip of bullet pretty bad. i dont think that this could be good for ballistic coefficient and maby my grouping could get better. i can seat my bullet down to 2.67 - 2.70 area and it does not mess up bullet tip anymore. the book max load for 155gr bullet with varget for 308 service rifle is 43.2. im using 42.7 with the 150gr bullet. i can still hear powder move around, so its not comprest. Im thinking that with a lighter bullet and not max load i shoud have lower preasure than i would with the 155gr bullet. anyway is this safe seating bullet this deap and am i correct on lower preasure to not tear up my gas system on my rifle. i hope im making sence.
