In this video they shoot a stock savage with factory wolf ammo.

From what I've heard work ammo is crap. Is this even possable?

I don't see why not- 18x26 target- so on your smallest measurement at 900 yards he only has to be shooting a 2moa group. Don't know about you, but I wouldn't call 2 MOA good- it isn't horrible, but it's about what you can expect out of an SVD with decent ammo. I can tell you for a fact 900 yards is entirely do-able with that combo. Call the savage more accurate, the ammo a bit less and I think you might have the same potential.


I'd be suspect if we were talking a 9" target at 900 yards.

Sure! That's very do-able. It's not a great group. There doesn't appear to be any wind at all. If you and your rig can shoot sub-moa with good ammo you can certainly do that... With that ammo.

I just thought wolf ammo was complete crap. I didnt know they made decent ammo.

Just don't bother with their steel case ammo - that stuff is crap and will put garbage all over the inside of your action / throat. Their brass case stuff is equivalent to cheapo winchester white (non NATO) box at best.

I'd like to see some proof to this. Some Wolf is garbage, some Wolf is simply stellar. What we see in the US stores, most of the time it is garbage. It doesn't mean, however, that all Wolf is garbage. Some of the 7N series of Russian Match ammo is marked as Wolf and made by Tula but it is no where to be found here in the US. Some of that stuff is superb; the Russians know their s***! So, let's not go overboard with this, there are plenty of US-made crap ammo, so the origin of ammo has little to do with reality. By the way, my AK prints 1" groups at 50 yards with iron sights. One of the best ammo for it is cheap steel-cased Wolf.
