An American one on the upstream side. Drilling and Completions.

There's little focus on the core business - finding and producing hydrocarbons. Much more focus on DEI initiatives, stock buy backs and buying out other companies to increase reserves on the books.

No real worthy discoveries in the last 10+ years.

These are critical factors in doing what you are suggesting. Its the time aspect that is important - if a shut down lasts only months it crushes the ROI to retrofit or build. So in the time it would take to do those things and the length of time of the disruption is where the economic impact lies.

well in fairness you cannot fault the oil industry for not overhauling/rebuilding their whole production process when they face presidents calling for a turn to electric vehicles then get voted out then in then out and 50 different governors

I agree, but those people fucking hate our way of life. We can fight them crazies on thier soil or we can let them fester and they bring that shit to our doorsteps. I enjoy sleeping without worrying about bombs being dropped on my head.

Those people only understand iron fist, I would rather keep it over there.

Second question is the easiest to answer.

Yes it will make them hate us more and make it easy to keep the cycle of hate going strong for another generation or two.

The first question is more complicated.

Yes they do hate us because of our support for Israel
Yes they do hate us because we are playing neo rome and invading / killing / conquering them
Yes they do hate us because we exploit them so we can live a better life than the rest of the world

BUT
They also hate us because we aren't of their exact variant of Islam...

One has to remember back in the day before the USA decided to build a big navy and spend a decade + figuring out this foreign war thing and finally putting the boots good and hard to the Vile, Evil North African Muslims who were a menace to the entire western world.

Also one has to remember back when the Turks were working hard to take over all of Europe by force and then other muslim types were trying to take it over from North Africa.

They will ALL always hate us, and that includes those in the tiny hat club that pretend to be our allies.

Honestly reading this last page (25), If you don't know much about Islam, muhammed, or their religious text, go read up on it before speaking. Islam/muslims want to take over the world, literally, it's in their source text, it's either pay the jizzia (sp?) (extortion tax to be left alone but you gotta still be submissive), convert or die.

And it's the dumbest crap ever as if you just read the quran how much it refutes it's self, even muhammed called the book as in the people of the book AKA Christians, and the book being the Bible, as being true and reliable LOL.. Oh and that "allah's word can't be altered or destoryed" yet modern muslims argue the bible has been corrupted. :ROFLMAO: There's so much of that crap where either way = Islam false.

BUT they believe it because it's beneficial for them far as hey hey dude it's okay to beat your wife, it's okay to have sex with that kid, just marry her first, etc. etc. etc. etc. oh and it's okay to just kill your enemies and decieve them etc. (they call their god the greatest of all decievers and brag about it like... dude, whose the father of all lies again?) anyway.... yeah... glassing the whole middle east isn't right or realistic, so you can't stop this garbage that way. They have to be made to see what they were taught is all lies...

ON TOP OF THAT, Iran has a sect that things they will cause the leader that will unite them all to come out of hiding if they make crap crazy enough and start enough crap..... They need to be made to see all that's going to do is get them "delt with" real harsh like.... But they wont accept that until the above is done.
