• Winner! Quick Shot Challenge: What’s the dumbest shooting myth you’ve heard?

I've seen it bad in LA and NYC but never like this.

That’s only over the general course of the roadway. Almost every major Interstate has sections going in various directions. Some of those places are miles long.
That’s true, but he’s saying the name doesn’t change. Even in a section running due East/West for several miles, I-35 (example previously given) would still be I-35 North or South, and the GPS would call it that because there’s no such thing as I-35 East. I-85 starts in Montgomery and heads due East for 16 miles before slowly starting to meander ENE 40-ish miles to Auburn, then finally NE to Atlanta and beyond. Still I-85 North the whole way.

Just to be clear since apparently I’ve started an I-35 argument

Disclaimer: I have absolutely no idea if there is an I-35 in China. I also have no idea if it is actually 1/2 mile ahead or if the two lanes on the right will actually allow the turn. I also don’t know if all the above lines up if the direction you’re traveling is in fact east

Should anyone be stuck in this someday and be referred to this post 😁

Sitting 48 lanes to the left and your gps pipes up:

“In 1/2 mile use the right two lanes to merge onto I-35 eastbound”
Or the 4 year old in the back seat, whose been eating snacks for the last 8 hours, pipes up "Daddy, I gotta shit. NOW.":oops::oops:

Odd as it may be, I-35 is a fun exception to that general rule because it does have an I-35E & I-35W. Yeah, you're headed generally North or South, and yeah it veers you East or West or a combo... But that particular odd numbered highway does have a section called I-35 East thats over towards Dallas and I-35 West thats over by Fort Worth. If you get to around Hillsboro (S -> N) or Denton (N -> S), you gotta make a choice, and your options are 35E or 35W.

But there IS East I-35 South, and West I-35 North, and W I-35 S, and E I-35 N…

Well I'll be darned, he picked the one exception to the rule and was right all along! Still makes no sense though - if you're going to have a convention, it needs to be adhered to or it's useless.
Thanks

I 35 doesnt get really fun until you get to the over under in Austin. Absolute death trap.
Nah, since they closed most of the entrance and exit ramps on the lower deck, it’s a piece of cake. But, I exiting for 26th street at a near right angle to the flow of traffic was… exciting. Almost as exciting as entering the flow of highway traffic from that same right angle.

I actually got stopped by the HP for what I call a ‘Nascar’ lane change exiting the lower deck. When I explained what I was doing, the HP officer just laughed and let me go. Not even a warning.
