Gunsmithing JB Kwik Weld for scope base bedding

Is it ok to use the Kwik Weld instead of the plain JB Weld. I know to some the question might be retentive but just wanted to make sure if i bed my base with Kwik Weld its not a prob.

honestly, for $6 why not buy the JB? but if you question it, look up the specs on the JBWeld home page and compare. i would guess its not as critical as if you were using it to bed the action. but the spec sheet will tell the tale

Tensil strength is 2100 for quick with heat resistance to 300F whereas plain weld is 3960 tensil and 500f resistant

i cant see that being an issue but im no expert. but for what its gonna be doing, that should work. i waxed the receiver, the base, the receiver holes i filled with kiwi. after it set, i backed out the screws out, cleaned them and the holes out and finger tightened them. later i took them all out again just to check and then used a torque wrench to tighten them all

Thanks axe. I did same with Johnson wax. I appreciate the quick reply.
