Here I am thinking about a JP Enterprises .308 due to their reputation for accuracy, low recoil impulse and being lightweight (although generally the AR10 is a pig). But is the JP Enterprises .308 reliable and will it be durable enough to stand up to lots of shooting?

Re: JP Enterprises .308 reliable?

I have an LRP 07 and it's absolutely the best semi auto rifle I've ever owned-by far.
Super accurate, sub MOA
low recoil
slim hand gaurd 2.25 inches
fantastic crisp trigger
very well made and thought out, side charging system ect..

Things I got that are options you should consider.
1) heat sink for barrel
2) 22" barrel
3) magpul precision stock

+1 on anything built by JP. I have a CTR-02 in .223 as well and the thing is amazing. The triggers are also incredible. Some people don't like button rifled barells but the rifles are accurate as hell and the customer service is top notch. They get overlooked alot because they aren't very "tactical looking" IMO.

Mr 500, I do not have one, but shoot with several folks that do. Very accurate and 100% reliable. Most surprising to me was very minimal recoil impulse for a 308. If you have the coin, highly recommended.

Edit to add, my friends use them for 3 gun, so they get real work outs and do just fine on the durability side of your question.

Re: JP Enterprises .308 reliable?

JP hasn't made the inroads into the tactical community that some other manufacturers have, but rest assured that there is none that can best JP's in the reliability and accuracy category. There are even fewer still who can even come close to the machine work and fit & finish of JP rifles. Pure man jewelry !
