Just bought the NF 5.5-22x50 MOAR zero stop scope. Debated for weeks betweenthat, a similar vortex razor anda similar leupy. Please tell me I made the right choice. I know all three have their perks.
If you can, someone explain the MOAR reticle. I have always shot the mildot system scopes, but the salesman convinced me that the MOAR was a better system, something about the clicks matching up with the reticle better?????? Thanks for the help.

Re: just bit the bullet on new scope

I believe the MOAR is an MOA reticle, and that's why the turrets match the reticle, because of the MOA turrets, but I could be wrong.

Matching turrets and reticles make it much easier because you can dial what you see on the reticle, not have to guess with a mil reticle and MOA turrets.

Re: just bit the bullet on new scope

I've got the same scope sans zero stop. I wish I had spent the extra and gotten the zs . Otherwise the scope is great and I think you will like it.

Re: just bit the bullet on new scope

I've had a few NF scopes over the years. All were excellent. I'm a mil guy, but the MOAR is an awfully nice reticle! You should be very happy with it.

Re: just bit the bullet on new scope

I sold my Razor and got the NF 5.5-22x50mm HS ZS MOAR. The Razor is a good scope but I prefer the NF. The only thing the Razor is better at is ranging and it has a little more elevation. When NF puts out a FFP in higher mag it will a better comparison. I hope you are aware that you bought a SFP MOA scope and not a FFP milrad scope? Check out the NF website for info on the MOAR ret.

It's a pretty frequent topic but for what it's worth, ranging is rarely considered a primary use of FFP. There's a few recent good threads on this:

Re: just bit the bullet on new scope

You made the right choice. The MOAR reticle is different because it's MOA, it's a different formula. You should already be in love with your scope. Mine was love at first sight!
