brand new remington 700 short action in .223 its an sps with 24 inch barrel how do i find twist rate as i heard they were made with two diffrent rates. serial number is g703****.

Use a cleaning rod with a patch. See how many inches it goes down the tube before making a complete revolution.

50gr Vmax from Hornady. My rifle likes 26.5gr of Varget. Not the fastest powder but the best accuracy my rifle gave.

when you walk into local gun shop to see if they have any 223 bolt guns and a remington comes out with a price tag of 200 you buy it brand new in box and dont worry. im ok with the new 53 vmax from hornady just need to set mind on what powder to use
