Have a BT10 on my SR25 but want to move it to another rifle. Considering a KAC bipod for its replacement but have never used one before.

Given the cost, case for buying one of these (features, performance advantages, etc) vs Atlas or something similar?

So far, i have or have had all the applicable bipods except for the TBAC. The KAC is the best one for gas guns in the role how gas guns are typically used. CAL is excellent as a runner up, except it’s profile is a bit large in regards to area it takes up along the rail. Dudes that like super long hand guards may feel differently. CAL is tight and KAC has slop/slack in it, which I greatly appreciate for gas guns.

Thanks for the insight, agree with the need for slack on a gasser...

Does the KAC bipod allow panning like the BT10s, etc?

I have a kac bipod and it ended up falling apart within a week. KAC fixed it and I still use it on my gas gun but I'd get a CAL if it was today. There's a decent amount of play in the legs which I'm not a fan of and the I've locked the pan feature as I have no use for it. To lock and unlock the pan feature is very difficult and it required me using a tool to lock and and never have to worry about it.

It has a lockout lever that allows it to be enabled or not. It can still be overridden by force, but for the most part it stays put. I’m not much of a fan of pan.

You didn’t mention what you intend to put it on. I’m a big fan of it for gas guns employed in the carry role like most of them are. You get the nice wide stance of the CAL/TBAC but still stows up tight like a Harris. If putting it on a bolt gun, I’d choose others before the KAC.

Me neither, I have to constantly tighten the lock nut on the Atlas to prevent it from going out of square relative to the target. Looking for something that locks up tight but can be allowed to pan if for whatever reason I need it to do so.

My initial post has that info (It’s going on an SR25). Agree that I wouldn’t want it on a bolt gun.

Sorry to hear, how did it fall apart and how has it held up since Knights fixed it; any more issues?

I bought one of the first ones and I cant rememeber what broke. I wanna say this was more than 4 years ago and I have photos in my old phone. With that being said it hasn't given me issues since and I've run it regularly on my 7.62 gas gun.
