I did a search and have been reading on various forums about the the SR-25 EMC and MWS. What are the main differences between the two rifles besides the dimpled barrel, weight, recoil, and price? Is there anything else?
The EMC and the MWS have alot in common. There was alot of collaboration between KAC and LMT in the development of the MWS and the two have identical lower receivers however you can buy two MWS-E rifles for the price of one SR25EMC.
I've been researching the same. I sold my HK-91 and I'm selling an AR or two to make a purchase. It comes down to the MWS with optics or the SR-25EMC without and buy them later. Weight is a major factor for me. I'm stationed at Ft. Carson right now and do a lot of hiking in Pike NF. The Rockies provide some challenging terrain and I want the lightest .308 carbine I can find. I'm not impressed with the SCAR-17S and want the wife to be able to shoot the rifle as well. The EMC does not feel front heavy like other .308 carbines. Even though it's a good bit more money I think I'll be happier with it in the long run. I'm not too worried about having a quick change barrel feature like on the MWS. As nice as it would be to have a few other barrels, this won't be a precision rifle for me. If I want super accuracy I'll grab my TRG-22. I'm basically looking to run this as a big M4 that just happens to be pretty darn accurate. Sorry I don't really have any imput on your question....but I'm in the same boat and just wanted to post up.
