Gents, I just figured I would share a website that I use to keep customers up to date on their custom builds while they are in my shop. This report shows the customer the work that has been performed on his barrel, the report takes about 5 minutes to complete and can be sent to anybody and updated at any time.

Re: Keeping customers informed on thier builds.

I need a thread protector for a Savage 10FCP-K if you have them. I saw them listed on your site, but didn't see a model listed. Got one?

Re: Keeping customers informed on thier builds.

Thanks Mark ... got the rifle yesterday. Gonna measure the barrel later this morning and confirm with Savage. Will pm for address for MO.

Never mind ... it's in your sig.

Re: Keeping customers informed on thier builds.

have this feature for simple bolt stuff or just full builds? I'm getting the old should I call or let it be and give the man his space syndrome.

Re: Keeping customers informed on thier builds.

Sweet build, and I love the transparency throughout the build process. I was planning on having Mark true my action and rebarrel my rifle when the time came, but that M2008 is so dead sexy it has me wondering if I should just have him start over from the ground up! So nice!

Re: Keeping customers informed on thier builds.

As a software guy, I was just thinking the other day how this would be a really nice feature for a tech-savvy gunsmith to implement for his customers.

... and as a customer I look forward to seeing my build take form!

Re: Keeping customers informed on thier builds.

If only other builders would follow your lead. There are so many benefits to this system. Imagine, email and call volumes dropping substantially since all a customer has to do is view the report. How sweet is that?

Keep up your pioneering ways, grasshopper!!!!!

I was in the same boat as you. I was gonna have my 700 trued, rebarreled, etc. But I looked at the overall cost and it wasn't to far off of a M2008...

Here's my just built M2008 from Mark. Worst part is I don't return to the states till April... ARGHHHH...!!

The scope, suppressor and bipod aren't mine however. It'll be wearing a Vortex Razor 5-20x50, Atlas V8 with spigot but no can, yet...

You might not know this, but I absolutely hate rain. Youve been here, you know what the rain is like, lol. Obviously rain was never an issue in Vegas, lol.

I'd rather work 8 hrs straight in the cold and snow than work in the rain anyday, lol. Remember once we hit -45F we're not allowed to work outside

. Plus i never got to fill my deer tag and i couldnt go pheasant hunting, lol.

Re: Keeping customers informed on thier builds.

Shooters, this was a program I had developed for my business. This was a prototype model that I am still working on. I'm going to have the system up and running again soon. Here is how it will work.

I will issue each customer their customer number.

The customer will log in and view their specific build page.

I will keep updates running on the site for each customer.

The problem is I will have to have time to log into another program and update that on top of emails, working 15-17 hour days, and trying to not get UN-engaged.

I will do my best to keep on top of this as well. Stand by for the next few days for more information. I'm working on integrating this program with my website.

You need to raise your prices.
