Trying to true DSF and my kestrel wants me to true out to 2127 yards. One, this is ridiculous and two, I do not have the means to do this.

I tried truing it to 1180 yards but it did not change my calculations. At all. Wtf over.

AB Kestrels have 2 ways to true, MV for shots in the supersonic distances and DSF for shots in the trans-sonic distances. True MV for 1180 shots as you bullet does not slow down to trans-sonic until about 90% of 2127. The Kestrel knows the 1180 is too short for DSF true and is not accepting that entry.

I’ve been listening to Frank’s podcast and did what he suggested recently. 600 and in, tweak the MV to get your numbers lined up. If you have access to 800 and up tweak BC.
Joel from PRN put out a video about truing on the Kestrel. He did BC at 600 yards which is also fine.

Above Mach 1.2 you want to true your MV (never use a distance as a set point for this because Mach 1.2 happens at different ranges for different setups/locations/etc...)

Below Mach 1.2 you want to adjust the DSF (Drop Scale Factor).

If you try to accomplish a DSF at too short a range, the Kestrel will not accept it.
