I posted this over on RFC today. Happy to have my step son showing an interest in shooting.

Back in April, I was at the range and had the opportunity to fire a custom 10/22. I had a 10/22 as a kid and thought building a pair of rifles would be a great idea for my step son and I. So I joined this forum to get ideas and also to see what Alex might like in his build and so after about 2 weeks of perusing the forum we started ordering parts to customize a pair of factory Rugers. I was advised early on that these rifles could be, would be addicting and I can now say that was an accurate advisement. Alex has a natural ability to shoot and with practice, I think he'll be an outstanding distance shooter. The experience of putting a couple of builds together and range time was worth the time and money.

So once the first two were done, I decided I'd bite the proverbial bullet and get a Kidd 2 stage trigger and added their bolt and charging handle. That led
to the want for a light weight barrel and hey, while I'm at it, why not just get a KIDD receiver as well and finish it off.

The KIDD receiver and barrel arrived last week so over the weekend, I changed out some parts, completed the KIDD which left me with enough parts for a third rifle. So below is what we ended up with.

Here's the Kidd build in a B&C Anschutz with a Nikon Monarch 4-16x42SF with TPS low rings.

Here's Alex's. Ruger receiver, B&C Heritage, GM 20" fluted bull barrel, Intensity 4-12x44 AO Scope with a DNZ medium 1 piece mount.

And here's what I did with the left over parts. Same as Alex's except in a B&C Target/Varmint stock.

I suspect Alex may now want the left over parts rifle but we'll see what happens when he sees it in person. Suffice to say, I enjoyed putting these together and more so the time at the range with inexpensive ammo. I'll likely sell the third rifle after Alex makes a decision.
