Look, you have a friend that bought a Kimber DW seven (7) years ago. You also say you told him to get other models...seven years ago? When did he buy this pistol?
BigBoss asks you a very important question and I am still waiting for a disciplined answer <span style="font-weight: bold"><span style="text-decoration: underline">"Has he had these issues before or is this a new problem?"</span></span> Why is this important? Because back seven years ago these were coming through pretty damn tight and they required more than a four hundred rounds through the pipe before they even began to run properly. That was the price of a match barrel/bushing and the accuracy these rigs were capable of. Seven years ago, he could have sent this rig back and had them fix it free.
So BigBoss is right.
1. Please, Answer his question.
2. With some reasonable amount of accuracy, how many rounds has he shot through this pistol?
3. Does he still have the ORIGINAL mag that came with the DW? If he does, put everything else away until we get some baseline answers.
4. Nothing can drive a pistol to its knees faster than a buffer. Some pistols (GLOCKS) stop with them in, others just start to intermittently go bad. A person that thinks a pistol like a DW needs a buffer is more than capable of changing a whole host of things (think springs) and we need to know what has been done to this pistol.
5. The case, we need you to look at a fired case and tell us if the internal extractor is biting the case.
Where you are heading:
1. You are going to check the extractor tension. You are going to look for a small rough groove on the contact facing.

If you did send that pistol back seven years ago, Kimber would have:
1. Polished the push rod
2. Reamed and polished the chamber, polished the barrel throat.
3, Polished the breach face and feed ramp.
4. Check the extractor tension and looked for a small groove on the contact facing. That would have been polished out.
3. Check and polished the disconnector.
All in all he has an outstanding pistol. We just do not know enough about where it has been the last seven years. Only the useless would toss a DW.
Good luck. </div></div>
Thanks. Good info. He bought the pistol in 2010. Kimber should have received it today. It does have some scarring on the frame, under the slide stop. I'm not Itrying to bash Kimber, I have a custom carry II that's been great. I've just heard bad things on the Warriors. Thanks for the info RT and BB. I'm no pro, that's why I'm asking.
