To each his own I have owned both and both will run. The reason I chose to sell my pof to get all Kac rifles are weight. They both have innovative proprietary features but with the POF heat sink barrel nut it makes the guns heavy. I am not running anything full auto so I don’t need the barrel nut but do appreciate the innovation. POF piston again I am not Dumping a lot of rounds down range at one time and di offers weight savings and some will say more accuracy. Also I chose knights due to resale value. Knights will hold their value more than POF so far. Also since the owner of POF just passed we do not know what will become of the company and its future. Knights is already set up with the next generation in line. Knights and lmt are battle proven and if the pof guns were so much better a military force would step up to purchase them and thus far has not.Re: Knights Armament Rifles or Patriot Ordnance Facto
How are you getting either one down in Brazil? I didn't know that they were exported.
Yea the revolution series is closer to the sr-25 but all in all the knights is lighter. I had a p308 and it was much heavier. I made the decision that fit me. I carry my guns more for hunting and shooting so weight is important to me.so nearly 10 years late,.....but since you dug this up....
My 308 POF piston Revolution is about 7 1/2lbs.
Lawsuit aside pof makes really nice guns and I am not saying otherwise just my preference was the knights. I felt the pof lower being billet was a little sharp and I like the ambi mag release on the knights better also. I can grab the mag and thumb the mag release and rip it out.Never owned one, just remember all the horror stories from others, the lawsuit and all that shit.
Mine was the same way and I chalked mine up to piston gun and battle rifle accuracy. I used it more for shorter range classes. The features of the rifle sound nice but execution wasn’t the best. Reminds me of a Taurus 1911. If you just buy it because of all the features it comes with it will not match a plain les Baer custom.I had a POF circa 2013 (16" .308) that I won at a match. I liked a lot of things about, light weight, great lines, but it just wouldn't shoot. I probably put close to 1000 rounds through it and it exhibited horrible vertical stringing at about 1x4-6 MOA groups. I had several other sniper instructors shoot the rifle all with the same results. I called Frank several times and while he did his best that gun just wouldn't shoot.
I ended up parting the the POF out, only thing I still have is the lower thats sitting in the back of safe, right where I left it 6 years ago. My KAC rifles(s) on the other hand get taken out weekly. Like I said I wanted my POF to run but it didn't, the KAC on the other hand has yet to give me any issues.
You are highPOF used to be trash priced at a premium. Are they making anything worth a fuck now?
