Anyone put together a Bravo chassis with a remage setup? Any machining needed?

I'm working on building a rifle for our local PRS matches. Still in the buying parts phase.

I really like the looks of the Bravo, especially at the price point.

I'm planning on a factory Remington 700 short action, and McGowan barrel in 6mm brx.

I'd like to take advantage of the discount buying a barrel nut from McGowan with the barrel. However, I can't find any good info on the OD of the nut, or what the Bravo will accept.

I'd like to avoid having any machine work done as the local smith is backed up 6-8 months and I have a mark 5 sitting here waiting patiently for this spring.

Also looked at the bighorn remage nuts, but $250 for the nut and wrench is getting up there, and no listing of OD there either.

I'm waiting on my action to arrive, then I'll order a barrel, then a chassis as the wallet recovers.

I'm just hoping someone has gone down this road and can provide some insight. Maybe I can avoid a 6+ month wait by going another direction on the chassis or the Bravo will work just fine.

You should be fine, the ARC Nucleus is a Rem 700 footprint, albeit with smaller barrel thread size, but it should fit fine as long as the barrel nut OD is smaller than the action itself. The Barloc is a very close fit on the Bravo, but it works.

You would be wise to contact KRG about the Bravo and see what they say / recommend, as well as McGowan if your dead set on them. NSS (above link) is also excellent and I can attest to the high quality of their products and CBI barrels.

    Best of luck!

Only issue i had with a KRG Bravo and a remage setup was the recoil lug, not the barrel nut. The KRG Bravo didn't like a straight-sided recoil lug...it wanted the tapered lug. If thats standard on your Rem700, then you should be fine.

I’m using PVAs barrel nut with my bravo. It just fits and doesn’t require a special wrench. Look better than all the other too imo.

    Thanks guys.
I'll check with McGowan before I order their nut. I've been stuck on a job with no cell service or hard lines for awhile, so I'll probably end up taking a half day to call and order.

My Dad tossed me a couple PTG recoil lugs the other night that he didn't use. So I'm good there.

I've got one McGowan already but it's in a Savage. Being in MT I figured I'd keep it local, although I've used Criterion Savage barrels with excellent luck also.
