LA County deputy and 3 others accused of stealing $1 million in marijuana, cash during armed robbery

^they will get less than what a non cop would get for doing the same thing.

Locally a cop had someone bump him in stop and go traffic and he jumped of and shot at the guy. Made up a bs story. Truth came out. Charged/convicted of assault/reckless endangerment. Guilty. Got a suspended sentence and 2 years later his record is clean.

.
So, as I read that article, and assuming that everything is correct and true (has that ever happened in the media?) then I have to conclude that there wasn't just one corrupt cop, but four.

It's my opinion that all four should get life in (the fancy tv term of) "Gen-Pop".

But my question here is, how does the average citizen tell the "good" from the "bad"? As in, it's perfectly fine and normal to teach your children that if they ever have a problem then can go to/talk to a police officer. Except "those" police officers. You stay away from "them"..... they're badder than "Stranger-Danger".....

Suggestions?
