Law Enforcement Reaction Times and Resisting Arrest

Excellent. Thats why, when I get pulled over, I always keep both hands in plain view, usually with license in one hand and registration and insurance card in the other. If its dark and Im SURE its legit police I flip in the dome light. Make him comfortable and things usually go much better.

At every interaction with a PO there is a gun present.......the one the PO is carrying.

The public thinks "Why don't they just wrestle?"

Well if the PO loses the capacity to secure his gun bad things happen....

Chesna responded to the threat but a lucky rock throw incapacitated him.

If there is a problem in any of this I fault those that have received no scrutiny.........the elected officials.

They allow the revolving door CJ system to operate.

If there is anything lacking in police training it's firearms.

Sure everyone gets their yearly qual shooting at a milk bottle but where is the threat recognition, shoot/no shoot scenarios, situations to determine if you react to "bias" or if you evaluate facts, stress inoculation through passing through a "House of Horrors" with real threats and immediate feedback.

They won't pay for it.

A friend of mine was on the Houston PD. He said that they got about a days worth of practical combatives training. “Why don’t they wrestle?” Probably embarrassment...

When I am confronted by law enforcement, I punch myself in the face and make loud squealing noises. That immediately puts them at ease and defuses a tense situation.
