I watched a lot of Charlie Chan movies growing up in the 60s and 70s. Even though Charlie was played by a white guy and made to look Chinese he was the hero in the movies.

The smartest guy in the room was the Chinaman and not the white detectives or criminals that thought they could hoodwink him.

I'm surprised they haven't banned the Charlie Chan movies from YouTube yet.

This is how cancel culture always ends.

“Never Forget” means never forget tactics that work to enslave a people.

First they came for Paw Patrol.... and I said nothing because I don’t watch Paw Patrol...

Then they came for Mr. Potatohead... and I said nothing because I don’t play with Mr. Potatohead.

Then they came for Dr.Seuss... and I said nothing because...

It ends with boxcars and killing fields. Every time.

He is very evil and has anger management issues. He's also black.

This was obviously a conspiracy to misrepresent people of color as not belonging to the earth and hell-bent on nothing but evil. Everyone knows that real Martians are green.

Also notice the fancy tennis shoes worn by the black-faced Martian. This was a subtle way of linking the evil extra-terrestrial being with the kids in the ghetto trying to wear more bling than they can afford.

The creators couldn't make Marvin the Martian a good guy. By giving him a black face, fancy tennis shoes and an intergalactic blick, gat, rod or heater they wanted to portray all blacks as having a temper problem and wanting to wipe out the earth; thereby eliminating the white races.

By showing the cartoons to children, the creators were hoping to instill a primordial fear of colored people in white kids.

Also note that Marvin wears a skirt, which also a way of making people think that cross-dressers or transgendered people don't belong. The hoplite helmet isn't a nod to the halcyon on days of the Spartan military prowess.

The helmet is a reference to the sado-masochistic role-play of one partner's dominance in gay sex. Branded in everyone's mind is what the Greeks were. This is obviously a feeble attempt at cultural appropriation to show what blacks will do to society if allowed to take over the world.

Okay, enough satire. But just watch. Marvin is going to be on the list cause he's black and not green. You heard it first, right here on SH!

Been trying to find a quality morale patch of Marvin to stick on the velcro patch on the sleeve right under the American flag....
No luck so far.

Stereo types are funny, and often true. Speedy Gonzales was in fact the fastest mouse in all Mehico. They want to replace them hate, and fear.

A very smart prediction and yes i think its plausible. the character points out possible way a fun little tunes could be turned into a figure of controversy. This is history erasing to me as there are many characters that will be focused on. I wonder what they would say about the 1989 film 'the little mermaid', a Jamaican-sounding crab teaches Ariel that life is better "Under the Sea," because underwater you don't have to get a job.

My parents had the story book, "Little Black Sambo." It was read to me when I was little and I would get it out on occasion to read and look at the pictures. In my early childhood, we lived on a military installation.

About half the neighborhood was black. Except for one incident, everyone got along and all the kids played together nicely.

Now back to "Little Black Sambo." I never saw anything bad about it. As a little boy, I thought that it was a good story about a kid, who happened to be black, that out-witted the tigers.

I was in a used book store that had three floors. They had a lot of really great old books. I asked the proprietor if he had any "Little Black Sambo" books.

His answer was no and that whenever he got any in, they were bought up almost immediately. I asked who was buying all those books.

He said that the Japanese would buy them immediately, regardless of the cost.

I still expressed some curiosity in the matter and he explained to me that the Japanese were the most racist people on the face of the earth. Please note that I'm not endorsing that viewpoint but just repeating his opinion.

I mention the "Little Black Sambo" story only to illustrate the extreme to which some people will go to cancel anything. Some blacks will condemn the story as racist but in this white kid admired the character in the story for his industriousness and ingenuity.

If I hated blacks, then why would I have read the story?

There is always a little levity in threads like this and we all need that these days BUT we should all be very concerned with the cancel movement. We should be concerned because WE are their endgame. Not because we are white supremacist, fascists or worse, it is because we do not agree with them.

Who would of thought that "Journalist" would become our greatest threat to our society and National Security.

That guy was right, the Japanese are inherently racist, and against anyone that isn't Japanese. It's cultural. The Chinese are the same. In fact, most Asian cultures are that way, due their history and historical caste system that still has an imprint on modern day culture.

I don't say this as an accusation, merely as a fact. American Asians are obviously not like this (mostly), but it bears mentioning that any large, old and homogenous ethnicity tends to harbor these racial tendencies; it's human nature.

We are genetically programed through evolution, to be tribal...the beauty of America, is that we used to see being a part of the American tribe as more desirable than some tribe based on ethnicity. But I digress...

And for the record, I'm 1/2 Chinese...(just in case someone wants to think I'm prejudiced against Asians).

It seems that some years back, a guy basically just changed the names to actual Indian names and removed the "picaninny-style" illustrations...

... and all of a sudden the book wasn't racist anymore. Because it wasn't racist to begin with. Hell, Sambo wasn't even African/"black" in the first place, he was dark-skinned Indian. Then again, maybe that's racist too 'cause of how identity politics work these days.

A question.
As most of the woke folks believe in evolution.
This doctrine states/starts with all of the human race coming from one spot in Africa.
If that is the case where did the "race" separation occur?
I'm all ears on the answer.

They want us all to be like robots. No character, no ethnicity, just a blank stare.

Screw them. We're all individuals with our own quirks. Mexicans are going to speak with a certain dialect. Black people will always "acts" for help. Hillbillies will always say "ya'll". Stop with the character assassinations and let people be people.

America does not have a problem with racism. Racism is what ignorant idiots hide behind as it lets them blame others for their own ignorance and failures. Even the 'old Southerners' were not racists. They didn't hate blacks for their race, they pitied them for being un-evolved and believed they were incapable of being 'enlightened' without generations of exposure to good old Southern culture.

Which brings us to the problem we DO have in America....

The problem is not racism, but Paternalism.

The belief among people that they are better than others... and that only with their guidance and care will the people not as 'good' as they are ever be happy.

It goes back to how we treated the native Americans. It goes back to the Manifest Destiny of American expansionism. It goes back to slavery and how people deluded themselves into the idea that "Blacks were better off in plantations and someday they would be capable of being free... in a few generations." It goes back to the idea that by invading the Philippines and Cuba, we were rescuing "Our little brown brothers" from an evil Spanish King.

Today, the manifestation of Paternalism is that filthy WalMart shoppers who cling to bibles and guns cannot possibly be happy or a part of "polite" society. So they have to legislate their morality and wokeness on those who they consider their lessers. After all, they went to Harvard. Or became Billionaires. or Senators. And only the best and the brightest go to Harvard and become billionaires. So it's their responsibility to lord over the lesser people... be they ghetto blacks or 'ignorant whites' in flyover country.

Racism? Show me a real racist and I'll show you an ignorant idiot who is just blaming the 'other' for their failures and shortcomings.

But Paternalists... they are the Bane of American Society. Whether you are a Native American now living on a reservation. A black stuck in Projects where the "woke" can harvest you every two years as a vote. Or a WalMart shopper who will just hurt yourself with your gun and pickup truck... Paternalists KNOW they are better than you. And that only if we follow their 'program,' will we be happy. At least as they define happiness.

Racism? In America? Not so much.

Paternalism is the disease that has infected us. And it is wrapped up in catchy words like Democratic Socialism, Welfare (as in we know what is good for your welfare), Social Security and a million other 'programs' that will make your life better. And which you get to pay for, too.

So next time someone calls you a racist, remember you are not. Almost noone with a brain is. But THEY are a paternalist. And that is far worse than racism. Because it is practiced by the supposedly-educated. Ignorance I can forgive. The hubris of the 'educated' paternalist is unforgiveable at any level.

Because thinking you are better than someone else is an appalling state of mind. And one that leads to very, very bad outcomes. Like Belsen and Sobibor. And Cambodian Killing Fields. And Lubyanka. And 100 million dead in China... under Mao.

Actually, new science including some recent discoveries in Mongolia is indicating that Homo Sapiens may more likely have come out of Asia.

Not that any of that matters, because they are also finding that as a result of some of the big Volcano events and the resulting freezes/climate events, the Homo Sapien population at one point slipped to a few hundred thousand, largely able to scrounge in coastal areas on shellfish and shore detritus. From there, the populations rebounded.

Ultimately, we all have the same DNA. And our DNA is only a few strands off from a Pine Tree. But we evolved in different geographic regions, thus developed different characteristics. So it's all just skin deep.

Race separation only occurs as a result of tribalism. Because humans evolved (and survived) by banding together. By creating family groups and being 'suspicious of' and often 'violent towards' the 'Other.' Whether the 'other was a village next door or some long-haired Scandinavians who weren't welcome at Scottish Abbys. Those who evolved weapons and martial skills faster... grew faster and expanded faster. And imposed their 'tribe's' will on the 'Other' with greater success.

As I said above, racism is the domain of the ignorant. Thinking you are better than someone is Paternalism. The most dangerous -ism of them all.

The Roman Legionnaires with their Cresta (or crest) would have your cojones for that ;-)

On the other hand, it probably would work ;-)

I was read the same books by my mom also. I went back, as a young "child", in the early 60's, and re-read, looked at pictures, etc., just like yourself.
I am a native Californian, parents bought a tract home in San Jose. Had quite a few Blacks, Hispanics, Filipinos, and yes, Whites, in the neighborhood.
We ALL got along, but, yes, was the "N" word used (among us kids), yes. But, was "honky", "cracker" used, yes.
We would fight it out (as much as small kids can fight), moms would send us home, give us the "talk", then, the next day, we would ALL be riding our bikes together, going to the school baseball field, shoot'n marbles, like nothing had happened and all was good.
I've had many "people of color", in my life and still have a few.
As a society, we have lost our "skin". Everything is "feelings" now.
This Cancel Culture thing, is just getting crazy-stupid and very tiring.

We’re all “racist” don’t cha’ know?

Frankly it’s sign there is no more REAL racism in this great country, when the younger generation don’t even understand the actual meaning of the word. In a odd ways it’s actually a good thing.

I disagree, this bullshit is dividing races, right and left more than I have ever seen.

It's systemically inflaming pregitus to levels not seen for 3 or 4 decades.

Been through it before and can tell it will be worse this time around. I think it's gonna get ugly this summer. Question is where it starts.

Have you seen the new faces at the ranges lately? A good portion of them will not be my friends I will bet.

I think they should do something about the dog lusting over the cow.

It's just not natural.

The leftists want to cancel Pepe Le Pew because he normalizes the rape culture. The best take-away from the article linked below is:

"Charles' piece sparked a great deal of furor among right-wing commentators.

'Let this sink in: The left wants to cancel Pepé Le Pew for 'promoting rape culture' but they aren't going to cancel Andrew Cuomo...' tweeted @alexbruesewitz."

And I would add, Creepy Joe Biden and Bill Clinton.

So today, they cancelled Pepe LePew from some movie with an NBA Player... because PePe is promoting rape culture.

Yet the left the NBA player in the movie.

Let's see... at last count, the cartoon skunk raped... noone. The NBA players have raped... Hundreds? Of women over the years? Maybe just dozens.

That's it... cancel the cartoon character. Leave the rapist.

Bet the movie is produced by Harvey Weinstein.

Just 'sayin.

Respectfully, what you are describing is an end product. The cultural effects of such Paternalism are a known quality along a preplanned route, mapped long in advance, put into motion by a variety means, all by a very small handful of people who quite literally see humankind (apart from themselves) as cattle or even chattel. (In fact, the Vatican (the Church) sold land and even the representation of the citizenry to European Royalty, which then became proportionate influence over the Papacy, thereby leading to several of these Royal families having multiple Popes in their lineage.)

What has always puzzled me are those that are generally competent adults that can not comprehend that Humans are a managed affair. Such people may even acknowledge that in their own lil home town - there is a group of people who sit around and decide who and how; but for what ever reason are incapable of understanding that extends all the way up the line. Those people are the middle ground, those are the people that can see all the problems in a disjointed fashion, and yet not assemble the puzzle. Those are the people that at least in some part are OK with others getting over on them. I rode up a chairlift this weekend with a Teachin Lady from NorCAl that lost her home to PGE & the fires. She tacitly stated mistakes were made but didn't see the point in holding PGE (let alone actual individuals) responsible. I told her that one of the conditions leading to the matter was that PGE switched from wood line supports to fibrous which were known to weaken when warm, but did so because on paper it represented less maintenance.

There isn't much more you can do other than smile and wave at this point. In most every respect, this is late stage Weimar. At some point they will pull the Dollar.

Planned societies can never plan enough details to actually work.

They fail through micromanagement.

I'll be dead soon enough; and won't have to deal with this crap much longer.

When folks reach my age, being dead is not about being a scare; it's an anticipation.
