<span style="font-weight: bold">TWO US bank robbers, including one dressed as a leprechaun, have died Wednesday after a St Patrick's Day hold-up in Tennessee.</span>
The Tennessean reports the suspect in a fancy dress outfit used a .45-calibre handgun to rob the Gallatin Bank before fleeing with an undisclosed amount of money and driving off with his alleged accomplice in a getaway car.
The pair shot at police vehicles, hitting one, as they made their escape.
The suspects later crashed their vehicle and fled on foot firing shots at police, who returned fire.
NewsChannel 5 confirmed one suspect was killed by police fire and said the other took his own life.
They were pronounced dead at the scene.
No one else was harmed, Gallatin Police Sgt Bill Storment said.
