I don't understand why someone on the numerous interview's doesn't mention this. I would like to be the one that tells Piers Morgan the reason for having an "assault rifle" because no one else will. That's all you hear that peckerhead say.

Last weekend I was hunkered in a mesquite bush with about 25 hogs all around me in the dark. Fuck them if they think an AR with a 30 rd mag has no legitimate hunting purpose. I was legitimately happy to not be holding a 3 rd bolt action at that particular moment. It is a safety issue, where hogs are concerned.

i walk creeks sometimes for deer and when we do, i carry my AR15 in 6.8spc because its light, compact and i can get on target faster with my reddot than with my scoped bolt action and not have to worry about banging up my rifle on branches and whatnot.
