Spiral fluted bolt and barrel.

Re: Lets see those spiral flutes

It would bug me if the fluting on my barrel and bolt weren't going the same direction.

Re: Lets see those spiral flutes

260,

Thanks for putting up the additional pics. Not to sidetrack this tread, but never heard of them before but love that action and stock. Like the shroud mounted safety and the back locking lug. Do you like the chassis? Anything you'd change? Is the vertical grip an improvement over the standard AR angle?

Thanks,
Jason

PGW is a big deal here in Canada and is growing in the US and other countries. The chassis fits me like a glove. Honestly can't think of what I would change. I find the vertical grip keeps my wrist in a very comfortable position. It feels very neutral, not cocked forward or rearward. If you are ever passing through south east Manitoba let me know and you can shoot it all you like.

TIA

Re: Lets see those spiral flutes

I like the vortex fluting job on that barrel!!

Nice rigs guys.

Re: Lets see those spiral flutes

My snipers hide parts build. Bought the barrel first chambered and ready to go off from Cigarcop, had the AICS laying around, got the 591 from Bugholes and the HDMR from Massoud used. Used my barrel vice and had it cerakoted locally burnt bronze with armor black small parts.

Specs:
Surgeon 591
Rock barrel 23.5in 1-7.5 twist threaded .243
AICS
HDMR (its my second one)

Re: Lets see those spiral flutes

See there, one thing bolt fluter knows how to do is get the fluting on the bolt and barrel to go in the same direction, that ensures the bullet doesnt get confused........

more of a diamond fluting

7mm-08 built by RW Snyder. The fluting was done at Twisted Barrel. Fluted bolt, barrel & action.

Thank you sir once again beautiful rifle

only the dead have seen the end of war

These are some beautiful rifles. But the fluting going one direction on the bolt and the opposite direction on the barrel on some of them would kick my OCD into overdrive!
