Rifle Scopes leupold custom m1 elevation turret

hey fellows, 1st post here

I've got a tack driving winchester 25 06 that wears a leupold vx1 4-12 lr duplex

Last summer I hit a prairie dog at 450 yards with it
That's the farthest I've hit anything with this rig

Anyway I'm looking to get out to 1000 yards with this rifle taking the cheap route first so I'll probably send the data to leupold and have them build me an m1 elevation turret for $150

parralax might be an issue at long range with this scope but I suppose I'll take my chances

Later if the funds allow I'll upgrade the scope to a used leupold tactical mark 4 ffp and use the same elevation turret

If I had the bucks I'd just try to get another used nightforce ffp and be done with it

I don't want to monkey with drop charts for antelope, deer and coyotes

So has anybody spun leupold turrets successfully?

They installed them dorm me on a vx3. Works great and very quick turn around. Less than 2 weeks..

ffp the cross hairs will cover the target if its small like a prairie dogs

Double check with leupold, you might not be able to add the BDC turret to your VX-I if it has low profile turrets. Might need to have a new CS built of use a scope that already has a target turrte setup that can be switched out, like a lot of the VX-3's. The CDS is a nice way to go. Built for your load and you can have multiple dials made of for any different cartridges you're shooting, ie different grain bullet.
