Rifle Scopes Leupold Mark 4HD

I'm in the same boat, curious about this as well. Does anyone have both and is there any noticeable difference other than the obvious mag range? For me if they're equal quality then I don't mind giving up the 1.5x on the low end to gain 6x on the top end.

Feel free to give me a call at 916-628-3490 and I'd be happy to answer any questions :)

I think the glass quality is the same. The 4.5 is aimed towards the hunting market (capped windage).

Same quality after getting behind both. Adjustments are the same, eye relief feels pretty much the same, at least for where my eyes like to sit. One factor I would highly suggest considering based on your application is the linear FOV that “drastically” decreases for the 6-24. Again, based on application may not matter but that’s the biggest takeaway for me

Is there any discernible difference in class between the 4.5-18 and the 6-24? Looking into a combo range/hunter scope and this seems to check a lot of boxes.
The field of view numbers on the 6-24 relative to it's power range are better than those of the 4.5-18x. Side by side with the two samples I had I thought the resolution of the 6-24x was very slightly better. Realistically, I probably just didn't have it set exactly to 18x but perhaps 19x or something. We are talking hair splitting here. Every other aspect of optical performance was indistinguishable.

In other words, basically no, there isn't a significant optical performance difference. There is also no difference at all in size and weight. they look identical side by side. The most notable difference is that if you want illumination, it only comes on the 4.5-18x version. You also pay an extra $100 for the 6-24x version.
