Mine has yet to fail me- hope it never will, and if this provides an alternative to the Nightforces- which I just don't like for personal reasons -we'd have a winner.
Of course, that's a lot of ifs

Alternative to Nightforce? A Leupold? And you prefer your Mk4 glass to what, specifically?
I am no Leupold hater, and if they come out with a scope that competes well with modern-era optics, I'll definitely give them a try; however, there is so much wrong with them now, it'd be a paradigm shift in the company to make something of high enough quality to actually compete in this market - on quality alone. (They compete now quite well on name and red-neck love-fest publicity.)
With what a Mk4 costs today, I don't see this being much of a real competitor unless A. they significantly drop the prices on ALL their other tac scopes, or B. they price this one such that it cannibalizes other Leupold options.
I see leupold as far too proud to do either of those, which means I'll be quite content to carry on without a Leupold product in my arsenal.
Opinions vary.
