Rifle Scopes Leupold-VX 4.5x14or Zeiss-Conquest 6.5x20?

I'm trying to pick a scope for my first AR (Noveske 5.56 20 " Varmint). I don't have the $$ to drop on high end glass, so I'm trying to pick the best mid price range scope. I like the reticle for both of these (http://www.riflescopes.webyshops.com/Bra...tte-Black-66220) or (http://www.sportoptics.com/zeiss-conquest-6-20x50-rapidz-varmint-reticle.aspx), but I'm open to other $500 to $1000 scopes. I'll using it for coyote hunting in ranges of 50 to 600 yards. I'm a little concerned about the Zeiss 6.5 magnification for short range shots. Anyone think I'll run into trouble there?
