Whatever is playing on the gym radio..lol I dont like music in my ears when I am training, I really dont even hear the music when I am training hard.
Plus when you have a workout partner cant hear what they are saying and I feel it waste time selecting songs, taking out ear buds asking, WHAT? and so on.
Another factor is there are alot of idiots in gym so its good to not have something in your ears cause you need to pay attention so some dumb arse doesnt drop something on you..or get hit in the head by a fool moving in your space while your lifting. I cant even tell you how many close calls I have had..Im getting old..lol need to keep the injurys to a min so I can come back the next day.
For lifting, I listen to anything that makes me want to tear the place apart, but ONLY if I'm lifting alone. If I'm lifting with a partner (most days) we just listen to whatever is playing at the gym. Or, more often than not, ignore whatever is playing because it isn't my style and doesn't do anything for me.
Here's some bands for you to look into:
Adept The Air I Breath Asking Alexandria Attack Attack! August Burns Red Blessed By A Burden Blessthefall Bring Me The Horizon The Devil Wears Prada Emmure For All Those Sleeping Job for a Cowboy Like Moths to Flames Miss May I Motionless in White Of Mice & Men Suicide Silence We Came as Romans Woe, Is Me The Word Alive
There are many others that I can't think of at the moment that I listen to on a day to day basis. That list has everything from soft vocals, to brutal bass drops to screaming at the top of their lungs and in many cases, a nice mixture of both
<span style="font-weight: bold">5 Finger Death Punch</span> -Meet the Monster -White Knuckles -The Way of the Fist <span style="font-weight: bold">Lamb of God</span> -Again We Will Rise -Blacken the Cursed Sun -Foot to the Throat -Requiem -Black Label
Blackhawk hit on Dub Step earlier these are just some bands to look for. Best part is theres not much vocals so you won't look like a goof singing to yourself while working out.
Helmet Metallica Ccr System of a down Alice in chains Korn Cream LS JR Walker Jimmy reed George thorogood Eric Clapton Eagles Disturbed Deep purple The clash The animals Molo Santana Mudvayne NIN Pantera Steve ray Ted nugent War Slip knot
I usually stick to metal and rock, mainly Metallica, some Ramstein as I understand half of it, and I always love some ZZ Top. I have a decent collection of the good Rock artist such as G&R and the other greats of that ear.
Almost anything from Halestorm will get me or keep me going. Also, pitbull is a guilty pleasure. Some of his fast paced tracks are great for pushing my cardio. Especially on "sprint" days where I push the pace more.
I'm a fan of old school hip-hop for workouts: 2Pac, Craig Mack, Ice Cube, Wu-Tang Clan... Just don't play it out loud or you'll start hearing, "I haven't heard this in years!" Nothing gets done after that.
<span style="font-weight: bold">Meshuggah</span>! From either the album "<span style="text-decoration: underline">Obzen</span>"* or the new one, "<span style="text-decoration: underline">Koloss</span>"**,
*Obzen *Bleed *Combustion
**Break those bones whose sinews gave it motion **The Demon's name is surveillance
<span style="font-weight: bold">Machine Head</span>. From their album "<span style="text-decoration: underline">The Blackening</span>",
*Wolves *Aesthetics of Hate
Can't go wrong with any "Lamb of God" or "Slayer" either.
I have about 300 songs on my IPOD for workouts, but these two, without any shadow of a doubt, get me going better than anything else. They might as well rename the songs Turbo 1 and Turbo 2.
