Rifle Scopes Lighter weight Scope

I'm looking for a "lighter weight" scope. I don't want a 50 ounce optic on my next build. Criteria is open turrets with proven tracking and good glass. I'm hopping for something on par or better then an NXS and I've looked at all the current Leupold offering and hoping for something more.

Vortex AMG, March 3-24x52. I'd be happy with either.

Depending on your price range..

Below 2000$ i'd look hard at the LRTS and DMRII and maybe even the Cronus

Above 2000$ USO B-17 and Vortex AMG

Above 2500$ Kahles 624i, March, and TT are very light considering the durability and glass.

I run a 3-9 trijicon accupoint on a lightweight build, and it's been great.
The scope weighs 12.5oz or so, and is still under a pound with the aero precision mount it's attached to.
It is a 1 inch tube though.
It's around the 500$ mark if you look hard enough, and I think it is definitely worth it.

What is the role of your next build? My Leupold MK6 has tracking, lightweight and good glass covered. It's a heavy reticle and fits the hunting bill for me... Because of the heavy reticle and 18x max magnification tiny groups aren't as easy to achieve as other optics I use. If it were more for range fodder or ELR I'd look elsewhere.

If a March were to come up for a good deal I would have gone with that,but Scott at Liberty Optics had a deal I couldn't pass up.

I just ordered a DMR II 3.5-21X50 it's said to be 13oz heavier and without illumination compared to the MK6 but it's not for a lightweight hunting build either. Also with the current bushnell mail in rebate it should be under half the price of the MK6.

I run this same scope on my Kimber Adirondack and it's fantastic. That said, it does not have open turrets like OP wants.

If you want something with a lot of zoom, the Vortex AMG seems to fit what you're looking for perfectly at 28 oz with lockable turrets.

I am in the same position. My top 3 choices are:
Tangent Theta TT315M 3-15x50
Vortex Razor AMG 6-24x50
March F1 3-24x52

I addition to everything mentioned, don't forget the SuB 5-20US. Small, pretty lightweight, tons of elevation.

I came so close on the March 3 x 24. Real close. Another hide member 46n2 swears they are top knotch. I may still get one for my next light weight bolt action build in progress. Light gathering ability based on reviews is the only thing that kept me away. They are small and light.

Minox ZP5. The 5-25 is 34oz, which is only 6oz more than the AMG, and the glass is noticeably better.
