What contours should I be looking at that are still thick enough to put 5/8-24 threads on a 16” ?

I’m still bouncing ideas around. Was going to go carbon but like someone said you don’t save very much weight with a barrel that short?I believe a Bartlein 3b would be the smallest profile that has enough meat for 5/8x24. Or you could go with a Carbon barrel.
Still trying to make up my mind. Still preliminary at this point.um. is this a pre-fit or a custom spin up for your UL 223 build?
and ask the person who is doing the barrel. Most of them can tell you that off the top of their head.
I love your threads on this, but we need pics. Fapping and all ya see
This right here. Keep the muzzle fat and the taper can be whatever you want.Custom sporter contour with a fat muzzle or a factory one like so:

This....For suppressor alignment I like .100 shoulder, or .200 over thread major.
Every smith is going to have their own "comfort zone" with this (and for me depends somewhat on the device as well) just like min barrel wall thickness.
If you want to use a skinny barrel, try to source a mount that indexes off the muzzle instead of the barrel shoulder.
This....
I’ve got several 18” Bartlien 2Bs ( Rem Mag Sporter) with 5/8s threads. They all are 6.5 bores and smaller and I’ve had zero issues.
@deersniper working out to make that rifle feel lighter is a lot cheaper than a LW build.
