I've got a buddy who is a cop in Toronto. I have no way to verify but he says there are over 11,000 government cameras in that one city alone. I wouldn't want to live like that, but you know it's only a matter of time in the US.

This is nothing new for us. Most of us buy our tickets with our credit cards, from computers phones in our homes and offices. We buy vehicles that continuously report their location and condition back to the manufactures who share that data with the government. We sign away more of our privacy (especially with regard to our location) with every app we install on out phones.

So when you or I fly the government not only already knows but they can likely predict which stall we will use to take a shit while we wait for our flight. This is to find the guy who has taken all the steps necessary to avoid all of that. You may imagine some nerdy freedom loving libertarian, but it is more likely to be some kind of bad guy.... At least that is the theory, back in reality most likely none of it will work. The manufacture will bribe the TSA to install it and in a few years they will rip it all out and toss it in the garbage.

Contrary to what the libs always say: "We live in a better time now. We don't need guns because we are not living in the wilderness anymore"...

The more technology increases, the more it will be deployed for malign purposes. And we, the ordinary citizens and breadwinners of our families, become ever more vulnerable to the state's whims.

Take a look outside your home right now, especially those who live in metropolitan areas. Has it ever occurred to anybody just how easy it is for ANY modern government to carry out mass arrests, relocations, and even genocide if they suddenly wanted to now? Compared to the kings of medieval principalities?

Take a second for that to sink in, and use it in your future rebuttals against the antis.

Of course, the libs might reply with the tiresome old: "But, but if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry?"

And in this case, "What if they declare that it is now wrong to be (insert ethnic group or sexual orientation of your choice. Play their game back at them)". Mike drop.

For us and those who are already awake to the dangers of the state's increased use of tech to control people, train. Train. Skills are to be kept sharp. And study how the latest popular surveillance tech operates. Like OP always mentions, the more advanced the tech, the more fragile it is. Learn what makes the beast run and it's fatal weak points. For when the time comes to don the shield, mail and helmet, we will know where to thrust the lance.

You know what gets me? The sudden fascination with home DNA tests. People are fucking retarded.
I do not care if I could help solve some cold case crime, I refuse to do it.
But 1/2 my family has done it. Here are 2 things they found. My mom is John Browning's 14th cousin.
Fuck me so are 95% of the people in northern Utah.
Sister In Law is 99.99% European (no shit, I am dumbfounded as she is white as a toilet, and about as smart) but what she got really excited about is she is 0.0011% Nigerian.
Yep I have an honest to god, black Elizabeth Warren in my family.
Swear to God I am surrounded by idiots.
And all this is shared with the government, one way or another.

Your first sentence should be bronzed.

Everything else you said was golden. I too can't believe OR understand the infatuation with the current trend/craze if DNA Farming. That's right up there with the "post a picture of you 10 years ago, and one now, to show how great you look" on social media.

Why can't people see that "they" are using that information for both "tracking people down" in the immediate sense, AS WELL AS using the 'public' information to build/improve their aging and forecasting of what individuals will look like in the future. All for their algorithms. Or is that Al Gore'ithms?

The biggest thing about it that bugs me, is the surreptitiousness of it all. Be up front about it folks, then others can contribute or comply as they see fit. The ulterior motives are what bother me.

Every country I’ve visited, and that’s three dozen or so, required you to clear passport control on your way out just the same as the way in. Many I’ve had to do facial recognition photo and fingerprint too in recent years. I’m all for that here for all non-citizens. The American line bypassing that would be short and quick.

Why would anyone want to let a third party compile samples of their dna? ‘Hear are some samples of my fingerprints on scotch tape also, be responsible with those!’
People go to great lengths to protect their identity and their credit score then willingly hand over their dna?
Those companies better be real careful with that stuff. It would be a travesty if their carelessness ended up causing reasonable doubt in criminal convictions where the only good evidence was dna.
“Your honor I was never there. My dna was. Heck I mail that stuff all over the place!”

international and domestic air travel & Airports facial recognition , PHfffff . Is no biggie . Your United States National ID card ( states drivers Lic. ) Your image is already banked away Fed. law enforcement . Everyone was/is forced to trade it off, for the privilege to operate a vehicle on a public street .

Saw this last time through CDG in January. It's great. Isn't everybody excited ?

paper bags are cheap and they still work for head covers , and you could let your children help decorate it promoting creativity . or if your picture being taken bothers you that much you could try this dresses sold separately.

The lower grade tech you see used in many urban areas is easily defeatable with just a pair of glasses. Add in some other head gear and facial hair, like when Frank is incognito on news spots, and you can mess with the system pretty well.

At an airport with BP there, not a chance and even facial prosthesis would likely be considered illegal by the time big brother gets done with you.

There is a cream you can wipe on that fucks over the cameras, much in the same way the spray hides your plate from LPR's. High tech works both ways.

Yeah, and you'll have doofus tsa agents monitoring the cameras, see the eff'd up image and make you wash it all off.....rinse and repeat. I went to Croatia in September and they made me remove my baseball cap and glasses at Pula Customs. Little, podunk customs clearance point and they had F/R.
That, along with fingerprints and RFID chips in your ID..........good luck.....as much as it pains me to say that. We spend a lot of time in Europe and the wife just let me know that we now have to apply for "permits" to go spend our money in EU (according to Brussels). Funny, they liked our money just fine 6 months ago.....without the "permit". Fuck Brussels.

Yeah. And fuck their sprouts too!

There's a reason they make you take your hat off when you go through customs. Technology isn't fool proof, and easily foiled. But...it makes people "feel" safe....

What's even worse is the mandatory DNA samples that have been taken from every service member since 1991. Entrusted to the DOD, the same DOD that manages to get my SSN stolen from them at least once a year for the last 31 years.

Just wait until low cost, easy to produce area-denial type EMP burst emitters are proliferated and the technology becomes widely available to the common people.

Of course, that would also mean that the brave new world will become even scarier, as terrorists can use those devices to strike soft targets such as hospitals and inflict overwhelming casualties. But it would also mean that governments now have found their equal match in the ring.

Currently, the best and most powerful governments in the world are fighting a losing war against computer hackers. Even by using the latest cutting edge research to develop countermeasures and employing the "can't beat em' recruit em'", strategy with captured hackers, they are still barely succeeding against those who are determined to breach data centers or just create plain old havoc.

Wait? These have been shelf available for about 10 years to some, the rest of us have to build out own. There is a reason those large blue caps sell well on Gay-Bay, an people pay well for old none working UPS systems. Old Liebert gear being the best for this.

Microwave, is another area that is interesting for gathering info, or disrupting systems. Microwave hops control more shit than many even suspect, let alone know about. Information control/destruction is the new war, Lynch Pin. The thing I find interesting is the amount of shit the man controls, that lead the average person to believe there is nothing they can do, still does not produce tangible results when it comes to placing the most wanted behind bars. Even when everyone was warned the old fashion way about the 9/11 guys, nothing was done. So I'm have issue believing this new whizzbang shit is the be all. Just more of feel safe while we spend the shit out of your money. This new shit will only snatch the most newest FNG's, in the field/game. There are counters for everything an there is not a country on this rock one can not get into freely w/o "Papers" or posing for PPC (Past Port Control) Look/act the part you can get anywhere.

Its here.

If Canadastan has 11,000 we must have 55,000 between government and private surveillance systems.
