Limited run of TAB CAD slings at Triad

Triad Tactical has made arraignments with TAB Gear for a limited run of CAD slings(ie:"The TAB Sling"). While supplies last, the CAD will be available with ITW MASH Hooks installed.

Some info on the MASH Hooks:
The MASH (Metal All-purpose Snap Hook) gateless snap hook offers an alternative to the HK-style snap hooks in common use for sling systems.

The MASH is constructed from stainless steel and is for use with webbing up to 1.5" (like that used on TIS and TAB slings).

Pressing on the thumb tabs in the middle separates the two rings, allowing the MASH to be slipped into any loop attach point. It's simple to use and more secure than the HK-style.

I've got a TAB sling in my wish list at Triad, but with the HK hooks. It's going on an AI chassis...what are the pro's - con's of the MASH vs. HK hooks?

If you align the HK/AI style hook in a certain way, you can cause the locking gate to be pushed open by accident. I thought it as a BS thing that only happened on the internet, until my duty rifle crashed onto a parking lot. As you can see in the first link, the smaller the hole, the less likely it is to happen.

Because of the amount of overlap in the prongs of the MASH Hook, this is not likely to happen with them.

The Mash hooks work much better than the HK hooks. I had the HK on my AI and the front hook kept popping off the keeper. Since I switched to the Mash hooks, I have not had any problems. Buy with confidence.

Not to mention the fact that the MASH hook is a much more simple design... I see no way that it could fail. While none of my rifles have HK-style loops, if they did, I would think this would definitely be an improvement over the status quo.

I swapped all of my AI slings over to mash hooks.
IMHO much better than HK hooks.

These have the hooks sewn on too, very nice!
