Here's a handy list of meds currently in shortage:

Since the precursors of many drugs (legal or otherwise) are made in China, we can watch how this impacts availability of our meds.

If possible, check your stocks of commonly used and prescription drugs and renew everything. Especially important for parents, grandparents etc. and get everyone used to using oldest first, providing it's not expired.

You can extend the life of nearly all meds (penicillin is one of the few exceptions) by storing them somewhere cool, dry and dark. Capsules are generally not as good as tablets for storage.

More info here:

Research paper on storage life extension

Mayo clinic shelf like extension article with lists of many drugs and how long after expiration they remained safe and potent

The cartels cannot seem to make or import enough cocaine, meth or heroin to keep America's Democrats from Jonesing for a fix. They have 2.5 million people a year lugging backpacks of dope, trucks, cars, planes, trains, helicopters and drones hauling the stuff in by the tons and still the Democrats are screaming for more.

If the Keystone pipeline company wanted a permit to build a pipeline that carried liquid meth, Biden would sign that authorization yesterday.

I'm lucky to be an unlucky person. I've got a nice daily intake of meds and I am so lucky they are at the pharmacy when I need a refill.

Talk to your doc about getting 90 day refills and refill as early as possible for a year or so. Try to build up a little cushion in your armamentarium, which is also today's word of the day 🙂

I've been getting 90 day refills for the last 2-3 years and my insurance will allow me to get another prescription after 60 days. I am fully stock up on my long term meds. However after this heart attack I had on Saturday, I've got to begin all over again on 3 new meds.

Take care of yourself!

My insurance will only do 30 days. I'm to the point of asking for 90 and paying out of pocket the I can.
MANY drugs with expirations are stable after expiration date, esp. tablets. Capsules, antibiotics in capsule, liquids, and epinephrine/injectables tend not to be as stable after dates.

Daughter diagnosed with ear infection. Amoxicillin was hard to find.

My wife was just telling me about this shortage tonight. She does most of the ordering at the pharmacy she works at and it's not available anywhere. There are several other drugs that have been hard to get lately.

Go to PetSmart.com (yea seriously) and get the amoxicillin capsules for aquariums.
Not kidding a bit.
It is exactly the same thing you get with a prescription, it's just a few months out of the "safe by" date on the package.
Last time I got it, it was like $15 for 500 capsules and was made by Merchyk ( however you spell them), free shipping.
Brand is "Fish aid" on the package.
Google it, I'm not the only one that does it.

Called in refills 2 weeks ago, still waiting. Concerned, because I'm out of some. May need to start checking around at different pharmacies...

We have been writing paper scripts for amoxicillin here in CO, because most pharmacies don't have it currently and no timeline as to when they will.

Glad I don't have to worry about all that shit.
