Suppressors Little help please!

Re: Little help please!

Serrated depends on the usage. If you want a good all-around knife for camping, survival, hunting... Sure, get serrated. For my everyday knives I prefer fine-edged. I can sharpen the entirety of the blade on those and keep them honed. I'm not knocking serrated, since just under half my blades have at least partial serration. Fine edge by itself does have uses though. Not the least of which is there's less resistance when chopping zombies - you don't have that dulling serration getting caught on everything

Re: Little help please!

I am by no means a Ka-bar expert. However I do have 3 of them. However mine have leather handles and a different sheath. But then I gues everything changes. Including the price. Mine was a lot less than that. But then they are considerably older. Great knife---enjoy it. I hope the new ones are made as well as my older ones are.

I do not know if I care for the plastic looking handle on the knife. It makes them look too much like a "Glock". Tom.

Re: Little help please!

I got it! I have it sitting here, it is so sharp and nice looking. Im not sure how the sheath would attach to molle webbing though .Anyone care to elaborate for me?

Re: Little help please!

Shay, for tieing that type sheath to MOLLE or ALICE webbing, I'd just use 550 cord or parachute cord. Use a simple square knot on one side of the sheath after running the cord through the webbing and sheath in at least two places each. It should hold just fine.

Tom, I've also got a small collection of Ka-bars, and for what it's worth, I'm also against change for the sake of change. But the rubber handle on the newer versions does seem to offer slightly better dry grip than the older leather versions. I would assume that this would also infer a better grip in wet conditions, but I have not performed any testing to verify this assumption. The newer style sheath is something that I find interesting -- the kydex is designed to provide positive retention of the knife when placed in the sheath, with or without the retention strap being closed. The older leather sheath only offered retention of the blade with the retention strap in the closed position.
